The purpose of this position is for supervision of offenders referred to the Community Corrections program.
Minimum Experience Case Officer I: Three (3) years of experience in case management, social work, or related field.
Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in social, behavioral, criminal science or related field of study required.
Certifications, Licenses:
Must have dependable transportation.
A pre-employment criminal background check is required.
GENERAL POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepares and maintains felony offender's violent and non-violent records and reports; identifies criminal activities and background information in reports or standard forms; prepares narrative reports of the investigation process; totals caseload activities when preparing monthly reports.
Calculates sentencing information to determine the accuracy of an offender's sentence computation; verifies that offender sentencing complies with judgment order.
Completes initial intake packages and/or risk-need assessments on offenders
Monitors the offenders under their supervision to ensure compliance with release requirements set for the offenders by policy and procedures.
Interviews offenders regularly to evaluate their progress in accomplishing goals and maintaining the terms specified in their Community Corrections contracts and rehabilitation plans.
Administers risk/needs assessment to offenders using motivational interviewing techniques.
Searches on State, local, and Federal databases for incidents and additional information related to their offenders; monitors and reviews e-mails related to the status of their offenders.
Conducts pre-hearing and pre-release investigations and testifies in court regarding the offender's backgrounds and recommended sentences and sentencing conditions as required by policy.
Acts as liaison with judges, court personnel, law enforcement and other agencies concerned with the probation program and who may have an effect upon the success of agency goals.
Uses motivational interactions with offenders to realign offender behaviors, thinking, and reactions to conform to facility rules and societal norms; assists offenders in decision-making processes.
Requests arrest warrants for non-compliance by the offenders as required by policy and procedures.
Utilizes compiled offender information in order to determine proper steps for treatment.
Counsels' offenders concerning risk of reoffending.
Provides information to offenders in regard to community resources and methods of finding and keeping employment and improving family relations.
Supervises people on community-based sentences and provides field supervision of offenders by conducting curfew checks or visits to home, work, or school.
Administers drug and alcohol tests, including random drug screens of offenders, to verify compliance with substance abuse treatment programs.
Attends and monitors court hearings of offenders.
Documents and compiles all information received, generated or distributed for each case, including emails, reports, assessments, interviews, court orders, web-based searches, etc.
Recommends remedial action or initiates court action in response to noncompliance with terms of probation. Enforces and follows up on court orders and board conditions for release.
Prepares and follows up with risk assessments forms (Strong-R) or any designated assessment tools.
Handles offender complaints and grievances quickly and professionally.
Assists offenders in addressing their concerns regarding job pay, trust fund, sentence information, educational needs, and programs.
Identifies issues with offender behavior to ascertain appropriate intervention techniques.
Uses Risk Needs Assessment (Strong-R) to determine the offenders' risk level and frequency of needed services.
Investigates significant offender and staff-related events to determine if Incident Reports are required by policy and procedures.
Assesses the availability of service providers to deliver appropriate services to offenders.
Assists in determining the value of court-ordered offender restitution.
Develops a transitional accountability plan informing offenders of the requirements of conditional release, such as office visits, restitution payments, or educational and employment stipulations.
Develops appropriate sanctions for offender compliance with their conditions of release.
Writes reports describing offenders' progress, identifying offender status and updating personal information and employer information.
Coordinates clinical assessments for offenders; arranges for medical, mental health, or substance abuse treatment services according to individual needs or court orders.
Identifies and verifies offenders' location and movement between local, State, Federal facilities, and/or supervising field offices.
Schedules offender activities such as public service work, orientation, court, classes, in-take processing, drug screens, and home visits.
Formulates behavioral contract for the offender and makes recommendations.
Other duties as assigned.

Process money orders for offender supervision fees, court costs, and community service work donations.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS/ACTIVITIES:
This work requires the occasional exertion of up to 25 pounds of force; work regularly requires sitting, frequently requires standing, speaking or hearing, using hands to finger, handle or feel and repetitive motions and occasionally requires walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling and reaching with hands and arms.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance and peripheral vision; depth perception; and the ability to adjust focus. Will spend a large amount of time viewing a computer screen.

Job Summary and Qualifications
The Security Guard provides a highly visible uniformed law enforcement presence at the NorthCrest Medical Center facilities, with an emphasis on the emergency department, for the purpose of deterring and preventing criminal behavior. Also, ensure the safety and well-being of patients, employees, physicians, and visitors and the NorthCrest Medical Center property.
What you will do in this role:
* You will use equipment related to your profession if needed for protection of employees, patients, visitors or self.
* You will, at all times during shift, follow dress code as a SecurityOfficer consisting of respective department's patrol uniform, complete with patrol duty gear.
* You will remain accessible to other hospital personnel at all times while on duty with the use of a two-way radio provided by Parkridge Health System.
* You must be flexible, work at a fast pace and manage several projects at a time. Accurately and thoroughly document all perceived security threats and submit in a Shift Activity Report prior to end of shift.
* You will have frequent interdisciplinary contact with other departments and health care professionals. Assist unarmedsecurity personnel with the management, control and observation.

Scheduling Expectations
The scheduling parameters and expectations for a flex officer are different from those of an employee assigned to a fixed post. As a flex:
You will be trained at various posts and /or facilities based on operational need. While you may work at a specific post or location for several weeks due to need, this will not be a permanent assignment.
Your schedule (shifts, days off, hours per week, etc.) will vary based on operational need.
You will be assigned to, or offered the opportunity to accept, shifts as they become available due to staffing needs.
Some of your shifts will be scheduled in advance and posted with the new week's schedule. Sometimes you will be called with short notice and asked to come in to cover for someone who is unable to work their shift.
You are expected to work any shift for which you are scheduled in advance which falls within the availability described on this sheet. Arrests, restrains, and transports subjects, and performs all duties of a certified police officer within the context of a College environment. Investigates criminal offenses, traffic accidents, injury reports, and various other reported situations. Supervises police operations for investigations including surveillance review, interviews, gathering of intelligence, and ensures the security of and the investigation of crime scenes. Responsible for ensuring officers provide adequate security coverage and police protection for campuses; must fill inadequacies in staffing when required. Ensures that forms and reports are completed in a timely fashion; reviews all reports and forms for accuracy, provides feedback for corrections to be made. Provides "On-the-Job Training" for newly hired police and securityofficers. Supervises police operations for the transport of money on and off the campus as needed. Supervises police operations to investigate complaints concerning traffic, parking, and individuals, etc. Plans, coordinates, and maintains an effective parking and traffic control operation for college and non-college campus events. Carries out orders from the Chief(s) regarding the department; informs and works collaboratively with police department managers on all issues and operations related to campus safety and security, and to address identified campus needs and concerns. Assists in the development of and conducts training programs for campus police. Monitors and documents personnel performance and takes appropriate disciplinary action when needed. Identifies and analyzes problems and makes solution recommendations to management. Reviews paperwork submitted by subordinates for accuracy. Uses and is responsible for training and overseeing police and securityofficers in the use of records management system, monthly reports, college work order system, and other law enforcement-related computer systems. Ensures adequate procedures are followed to protect the security, confidentiality, and integrity of departmental and College records which may include student records. May be required to work overtime and/or be on call and to be able to respond to emergencies within a reasonable time. Keeps Chief of Campus Police aware of all notable situations. Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Must be at least 21 years of age.
Three years of experience as a police officer with a satisfactory service rating by a superior.
Graduate of an accredited, approved police academy and be a certified police officer meeting all the requirements for P.O.S.T certification in Tennessee.
Meet the requirements of TCA 38-8-106 and TCA 38-8-107 Qualifications of Police Officers.
Out-of-state applicants are required to meet Tennessee P.O.S.T certification requirements within six (6) months of hire.
Prior law enforcement experience as a full-time certified officer must be within the past three (3) years.
Must have not been convicted of or pleaded guilty to or entered a plea of nolo contendere to any felony charge or to any violation of any federal or state laws or city ordinances relating to force, violence, theft, dishonesty, gambling, liquor, or controlled substances.
Possess a valid Tennessee driver's license.
Out-of-state applicants must obtain a Tennessee driver's license within thirty (30) days of hire.
Pass a thorough background investigation.
Pass a medical examination/drug screening and a psychological evaluation. This requirement may be waived if there has not been a break longer than six months of full-time employment as a police officer within the state of Tennessee and the employing agency shares all medical and psychological reports.
Must successfully complete the department field training program within designated time frame.
Proficiency in firearms and non-lethal weapon operation.

Associate degree in Criminal Justice or related field.
Three years of increasingly responsible law enforcement experience including one year of administrative and supervisory responsibility.
Knowledge of Tennessee Board of Regents/College regulations, State of Tennessee Laws, as well as Federal Laws.
Possess a broad understanding and working knowledge of professional and modern campus law enforcement, including investigative supervisory skills, and overseeing confidential and sensitive investigations.
Working knowledge of Title IX as it relates to law enforcement, the Clery Act, and other federal and state campus safety rules and regulations.
Experience working in a campus safety and security environment, as well as knowledge of situations that are unique to college students, events, and functions.
