Job Summary: Under general supervision performs duties to ensure the safety and security of students, employees and visitors; applies crime risk and safety hazard prevention techniques, methods, practices and enforces University laws and regulations as a uniform presence on campus.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Patrols assigned areas in a vehicle or on foot, providing assistance and direction to University students, employees and visitors.
Promote public and campus safety in those areas consistent with University policy, local, state and federal laws.
Contribute to campus safety by providing vehicle escorts and various crime prevention measure, including the securing and opening of campus buildings. Conducts checks on residential hall, buildings, grounds, and University property to ensure the prevention of burglary, theft, criminal mischief/vandalism or fire.
Respond to campus emergency, priority, and routine calls for service. Provides first responder first aid support. Serve as liaison between campus and off-campus emergency services.
Interviews persons involved or witness incidents/crimes committed on campus. Writes reports and maintains appropriate documentation, conduct follow-up investigations.
Complete daily security reports; inspects public safety equipment; and monitors radio transmissions and responds to ongoing incidents concerning the safety and security of the campus community.
Secure incident/crime scenes of serious incidents, making sure that the integrity of the scene and evidence is not compromised, tampered with, altered, contaminated or left unattended and seize contraband when necessary.
Stop vehicles and/or pedestrian traffic to inspect University identification and or other identification (Driver's license or Florida ID card) and enforce campus traffic rules imposed by the University.
Direct traffic during special events, congested areas, traffic crashes, or special hazards.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree or other advanced degree preferred
Certification in the State of Florida as a police officer under FDLE Standards preferred
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Florida Class D and G license - SecurityOffice License within 30 days of employment
Must possess a valid driver license upon the effective starting date of employment and a valid Florida Driver's License no later than 30 days after the effective date of employment.
Physical Requirements:
Working environment requires working rotation shifts, nights, evenings, weekends, holidays, and after hours work. May be required to report for duty at any time, including during states of emergency and University closings.
May include prolonged exposure to normal environmental conditions, such as, sunlight, heat, cold, and rain. Also includes risk of exposure to adverse environmental conditions such as, noise, solvents, odors, slippery or uneven surfaces, heights, machinery, adverse weather conditions, and traffic hazards.
Requires complete mobility of all limbs. Requires walking, standing, and running, keeling, bending, and stooping. May be required to climb or crawl under obstructions.
Must be able to move 150 pound objects up to 100 feet in an emergency; must be able to run extended distances and apprehend fleeing suspects, when necessary.
Must have eyesight and hearing correctable to normal ranges.

WHAT IS AN FWC DUTY OFFICER?
A Duty Officer is a certified law enforcement dispatcher who is responsible for monitoring and operating a two-way radio system, FCIC/ NCIC computer terminal (i.e., teletype) communication, and making independent decisions. Duty Officers learn and master the art of multitasking while composing and disseminating information through various communication sources to deliver routine and/or emergency correspondence to agency personnel, partnering law enforcement agencies, and the public to remain compliant with standards set forth by the Agency, Federal Communication Commission (FCC) and Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE).
Tasks performed by the Duty Officer include but are not limited to:
* Monitor and operate a two-way radio system, telephone, and teletype system
* Dispatch law enforcement officers and other personnel to citizen complaints and/or crimes in progress
* Communicate and formally document messages regarding the safety of officers performing hazardous duties between the field and base station
* Contacts law enforcement administrators regarding any emergency radio broadcast and maintains location and status of law enforcement personnel through constant radio and telephone contact
* Operates the Florida Crime Information Center / National Crime Information Center (FCIC/NCIC) computer terminal
* Broadcasts 'Be on the Look Out' (BOLO) alerts regarding dangerous or wanted criminals
* Receives emergency and/or routine requests to and from officers and enters these messages into the computer
* Evaluates, disseminates, and provides criminal and/or confidential information to authorized personnel 24 hours per day
* Expected to remain current on all procedures, laws, rules, and regulations, and disseminate this information to the public and staff as necessary

Monitor designated streets, lots, garages, other public areas and/or an entire campus to ensure compliance with parking policies.

Job Description
Excelsior Defense is looking for an Armed SecurityOfficer in the Orlando Area Part-time to protect our client's premises, assets, and personnel. You will maintain a high visibility presence and prevent all illegal or inappropriate actions and maintain access control into the property. Doing rounds, scanning in different points throughout the property in the housing contract.
The Officer needs to be prompt with patrolling the community to making sure everything is safe, and no homeless are sleeping on property.
This position is in the Orlando Area
Schedule:
1. Friday and Saturday (9pm -5:00am)
2. Sunday and Monday (9pm -5:00am)
3. Sunday (9:00pm- 5:00am)
4.Monday (9:00pm-5:00am)
Qualification:
Protect company's property and staff by maintaining a safe and secure environment
Observe for signs of crime or disorder and investigate disturbances
Act lawfully in direct defense or life or property
Apprehend criminals and evict violators
Report in detain any suspicious incidents
Report Writing
Skills Required:
Proven work experience as a securityofficer or relevant position
Valid D and G security License (Needs to be active with both security License)
Ability to operate detecting systems and emergency equipment
Must have your own weapon
Excellent knowledge of public safety and Security procedures/Protocols
Surveillance skills and detail orientation
Integrity and professionalism
Detailed report writing
Base Rate: $19.01 hourly
