The DCO works with the HQ team to uphold USADA's goals of creating and maintaining a fair and healthy environment for all athletes. The role will include both local and national travel to conduct Doping Control assignments. The following job expectations, responsibilities, and qualifications apply to both the DCO I and DCO II positions, however, in order to qualify for a DCO II level, one must have a valid phlebotomy credential in good standing, as further outlined below. A DCO II is able to serve as a doping control officer that can draw blood. Using excellent customer service skills, establishes and maintains effective working relationships with other employees, officials, and all members of the general public. Institutes work assignments and coordinates the activities of the Bomb Squad during special events and/or bomb emergencies. Directs the activities of police officers/ fire personnel/ or other first responders at the scene of a bomb emergency. Provides for legal, proper, and safe transportation, disposal, and storage of explosive materials. Provides technical support to Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT), Hostage Negotiation Team, or Hazardous Material (HazMat). Provides dignitary protection when requested. Conducts post-blast investigations. Collects and preserves evidence in accordance with Arkansas laws. Prepares and provides courtroom testimony. Prepares and participates in explosive related training programs. Compiles and reports technical data on explosive devices and incidents. Develops and promulgates bomb threat awareness and safety programs for public and private organizations. Provides assistance to victims, witnesses, and the general public. Performs escort duties to special processions. Works to resolve any personnel issues before bringing them to the attention of the Operations Lieutenant. Performs other duties as assigned or required. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent. REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
