Security Officers maintain a safe and secure environment for customers and employees by patrolling and monitoring premises and personal. They prevent losses and damage by reporting irregularities, informing violators of policy and procedures and restraining trespassers. Your Responsibilities * Perform nightly patrols of the community looking for vandalism, suspicious behavior/activity, breakdowns in physical security regarding access to the community, light bulbs that are not working properly, cars that violate community policies and the like. * Maintain a nightly log of patrols and reports. Provide documentation on specific issues to the General Manager on a bi -weekly basis, ensuring all pertinent information is gathered and mentioned. * Report observed disturbances, incidents, maintenance concerns or unsafe conditions to the General Manager, ensuring all pertinent information is gathered and mentioned. * Respond appropriately to resident complaints and community disturbances (including but not limited to unauthorized parties, loitering, and disruptive vehicles). Respond to all resident calls promptly, including lockouts, complaints and other various items as directed. What We Require * This On-Site Courtesy Officer position does require the candidate to be actively employed with a law enforcement agency (Bloomington Police Department, Indiana State Police, Monroe County Sheriff's Department, Indiana University Police, etc). * Professional representation of the community at all times, including maintaining a courteous demeanor. * Clean record/background. Job purpose Under the direction of the Security Supervisors, the incumbent provides basic security coverage ensuring the adequate protection is provided for the safety of guests, visitors, and employees. Duties and responsibilities Exhibit conduct in accordance with all Illinois Gaming Board (IGB) Rules and Regulations, Federal and State laws and regulations, and Company and departmental policies and procedures. Perform the duties and responsibilities associated with the IGB Statewide Voluntary Self-Exclusion Program as described in Section A of this ICS. Consistently deliver positive, courteous, and professional guest service in all interactions with guests, visitors, vendors, and fellow employees. Ensure the proper security is provided for all transfers or monies within the casino and hotel areas of the complex. Assist patrons with a wide variety of inquiries and situations including, but not limited to, providing information about the property and events, giving directions, and possibly escorting them if necessary. Prepare detailed incident reports in a clear and precise manner. Patrol the hotel and casino areas to establish a security presence and report all unusual situations and/or suspicious persons. Assist in the coordination and resolution of emergency situations. Assist in maintain proper key control. Maintain excellent communication skills and interpersonal relations with guests, vendors, visitors, and Golden Nugget staff. Perform any duties on or off-site involving guest services and quality control including, but not limited to, special events, guest giveaways, crowd control, property cleanliness, and other hospitality functions as needed. Display professional conduct, sound judgment, the highest level of professional integrity and a strong work ethic. Other related duties as assigned. Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent preferred. One (1) year of comparable experience is required, or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to obtain a gaming license. Must have solid decision-making, organization, and interpersonal skills. Excellent verbal communication skills are required. The ability to thrive in a fast-paced multi-tasking, hands-on environment. Ability to establish and maintain a positive and professional working relationships with all individuals. Ability to utilize departmental policy and the Use of Force Continuum guidelines, e.g., AIDET, AVADE de-escalation skills, Defensive Tactics, Pepper Spray, TASER, citizen arrest.
