The screening provides security for the aircraft, airports, air carriers and staff. QUALIFICATIONS: A. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE 1. High School diploma/G.E.D. or equivalent. 2. Previous airline experience preferred. 3. Previous experience in security, military, customer service preferred. 4. Must be a U.S. citizen. 5. Must be 18 years of age or older. 6. Must have reliable telephone and transportation. B. PERSONAL AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS 1. Treat all information as confidential. 2. Possess the tact to deal with all levels of situations, client representatives, employees and the public. 3. Must be able to read, write, understand and carry out instructions in English. 4. Must be able to sit, stand, lift and/or bend throughout the shift. 5. Must pass pre-employment and random drug tests. 6. Must pass a pre-employment background check. 7. Inspection must take place inside the catering facility or on the loading dock, and must be conducted to the extent permitted by local laws and hygiene standards. 9. Search the inside of the vehicles for weapons, explosives and other deadly or dangerous items just prior to loading catering carts. 10. Escort all catering carts from the time the monitoring/inspection is completed until the carts are loaded onto the transport vehicle. 11. After concluding the search and loading, close and seal all carts with tamper evident security seals. 12. The air carrier or representative meeting the carts at the aircraft will inspect the seal for signs of tampering prior to breaking it. 13. In the event a seal shows signs of tampering or are discovered broken, the suspect cart must be searched for weapons, explosives, and other dangerous devices prior to loading on aircraft. 14. All seals must be stored in a locked container and protected from unauthorized access. 15. Notify or ensure immediate Law Enforcement Officer and/or Airline Ground Security Coordinator notification when necessary. 16. Ensure safe handling of dangerous or deadly weapons/objects discovered until arrival of the Law Enforcement Officer. 17. Contact Law Enforcement Officer if items of contraband (illegal items) are discovered during the screening process. Maintain control of items until arrival of the L.E.O. 18. Report all Government tests, real weapons, injuries and other major incidents to supervisor immediately. 19. Keep supervisor informed of needs and problems in assigned areas, maintain cleanliness of immediate work area and report maintenance needs. 20. Project a positive image and respond to inquiries from clients, staff and public in a courteous manner. 21. Attend meetings and in-services as required. 22. Utilize appropriate communications channels and maintain records, reports and files as required. 23. Must be in proper uniform or business attire as directed by company officials. 24. Identification badges must always be visible. 25. Adhere to company policies and procedures and participate in achievement of company objectives. 26. Utilize company and client equipment, supplies and resources in a conscientious, cost effective manner. 27. Perform other duties as requested. 28. Comply with all safety requirements to include only using equipment that you have been trained on, immediately reporting unsafe conditions and workplace injuries, wearing proper PPE, and attending required safety training.

Specific duties may include interaction with the public, computer data entry, investigation and reporting of ordinance violations, and general assistance to city personnel as determined. SUPERVISION EXERCISED None. ESSENTIAL DUTIES Identifies and enforces city zoning regulations and applicable codes. Responds to complaints of code violations and contacts citizens to achieve compliance. Coordinates code enforcement activities with other city departments and personnel. Conduct property inspections in accordance with the city ordinances. Maintains accurate logs and reports of all complaints received and all violations viewed. Prepares all necessary documents and inputs all ordinance cases in the computer program. Prepares cases for the courts and appears as needed. Provides educational information to citizens through handouts, presentations, and in one-on-one conversations. Attends training and information meetings concerning community programs. Follows all safety procedures for operation of all equipment and vehicles used. Receives information from citizens in person, by telephone, and in writing. Ensures that information is properly distributed to the appropriate person(s). Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education: High school diploma or GED. One year of college in criminal justice field preferred. Experience: Two years of customer service experience dealing with conflict resolution and handling customer complaints, oral presentations, and report writing. Law enforcement experience preferred. Certifications/Licenses: Valid Utah Driver's License KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Knowledge of: City zoning regulations and codes; health codes and their application. Pertinent Federal, State, and local laws, codes, and regulations. Modern office procedures, methods, and equipment including computer equipment and applicable software programs. Principles and procedures of record keeping. Principles and techniques used in dealing with the public. Safe driving principles and practices. Skill with: Operating modern office equipment including computer equipment and software. Operating communications equipment including telephone and two-way radios. Operating a motor vehicle safely. Ability to: Learn local geography, city streets, public buildings, and businesses. Learn to properly interpret and make decisions in accordance with federal, state, and local policies, procedures, laws, and regulations. Prepare clear and concise reports. Keep records and files of work progress. Act quickly and calmly in emergency situations. Meet and deal with the public tactfully and effectively. Exercise good judgment, flexibility, creativity, and sensitivity in response to changing situations and needs. Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. Establish, maintain, and foster positive and harmonious working relationships with those contacted in the course of work. Professionally communicate with citizens, other employees, and agencies in difficult and possibly hostile situations. WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS Work in a standard office environment which includes reaching, bending, sitting, standing, talking, hearing, and listening. Ability to travel to different sites and locations. Ability to handle extreme pressure and fatigue due to daily exposure to almost always stressful situations.
