The Safety and SecurityOfficer is responsible for providing protection and communication with hotel guests and employees. He/she is also responsible for patrolling hotel premises to maintain security, detect and report fire, security and safety hazards and/or violations of Highgate Hotel's rules and regulations.

11. After concluding the search and loading, close and seal all carts with tamper evident security seals.
12. The air carrier or representative meeting the carts at the aircraft will inspect the seal for signs of tampering prior to breaking it.
13. In the event a seal shows signs of tampering or are discovered broken, the suspect cart must be searched for weapons, explosives, and other dangerous devices prior to loading on aircraft.
14. All seals must be stored in a locked container and protected from unauthorized access.
15. Notify or ensure immediate Law Enforcement Officer and/or Airline Ground Security Coordinator notification when necessary.
16. Ensure safe handling of dangerous or deadly weapons/objects discovered until arrival of the Law Enforcement Officer.
17. Contact Law Enforcement Officer if items of contraband (illegal items) are discovered during the screening process. Maintain control of items until arrival of the L.E.O.
18. Report all Government tests, real weapons, injuries and other major incidents to supervisor immediately.
19. Keep supervisor informed of needs and problems in assigned areas, maintain cleanliness of immediate work area and report maintenance needs.
20. Project a positive image and respond to inquiries from clients, staff and public in a courteous manner.
21. Attend meetings and in-services as required.

Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
Patrol the interior and exterior of the hotel property, including guest floors, public areas, back-of-house spaces, and parking areas.
Respond promptly and professionally to incidents, emergencies, and alarms, ensuring timely communication with appropriate departments and first responders.
Monitor security systems, CCTV, fire alarms, and access control systems.
Complete detailed reports for incidents, accidents, and investigations
Enforce hotel policies and procedures, including crowd control and guest/employee conduct.
Provide exceptional service when assisting guests, responding to concerns, or offering directions and information.
Support hotel operations by collaborating with departments such as Front Office, Engineering, and Housekeeping
Assist with lost and found procedures, key control, and emergency evacuation protocols.
Remain calm and take decisive action in emergency situations, including medical emergencies, fire alarms, and disruptive behavior.
Qualifications
Previous security, law enforcement, or military experience preferred; hotel or hospitality experience is a plus.
CPR, First Aid, and AED certification preferred (or willingness to obtain after starting the position through the hotel)
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle sensitive situations with discretion and professionalism.
Must be open to working various shifts as well as holidays and weekends.
Must be able to stand or walk for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as climbing stairs or lifting moderate weights.
Proficient in basic computer skills.
