RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide security for various buildings by conducting perimeter security, internal security, threat monitoring, etc.
Protect personnel and property in a professional manner
Meet and deal tactfully and politely with the general public and visitors
Effectively and efficiently screen and process visitors as required
Identify, report, delay, or detain persons who violate rules and regulations
Conduct internal and external roving vehicle, bicycle, and/or foot patrols
Traffic control as necessary
Detect and respond to alarms and emergencies

11. After concluding the search and loading, close and seal all carts with tamper evident security seals.
12. The air carrier or representative meeting the carts at the aircraft will inspect the seal for signs of tampering prior to breaking it.
13. In the event a seal shows signs of tampering or are discovered broken, the suspect cart must be searched for weapons, explosives, and other dangerous devices prior to loading on aircraft.
14. All seals must be stored in a locked container and protected from unauthorized access.
15. Notify or ensure immediate Law Enforcement Officer and/or Airline Ground Security Coordinator notification when necessary.
16. Ensure safe handling of dangerous or deadly weapons/objects discovered until arrival of the Law Enforcement Officer.
17. Contact Law Enforcement Officer if items of contraband (illegal items) are discovered during the screening process. Maintain control of items until arrival of the L.E.O.
18. Report all Government tests, real weapons, injuries and other major incidents to supervisor immediately.
19. Keep supervisor informed of needs and problems in assigned areas, maintain cleanliness of immediate work area and report maintenance needs.
20. Project a positive image and respond to inquiries from clients, staff and public in a courteous manner.
21. Attend meetings and in-services as required.

As a Target Security Specialist, no two days are ever the same, but a typical day will most likely include the following responsibilities:
Support sales by welcoming and engaging guests and team members at the front of store and on the sales floor; help guests find the products they are looking for in-store and online
Lead a physical security culture for our team members and guests by assessing and maintaining safe and secure standards throughout the store, including exterior property
Respond to and accurately document security incidents
Understand and leverage escalation tools for guest issues in order to provide a safe and secure environment for our team members and guests
Conduct productive merchandise recoveries and provide apprehension support as needed, strictly adhering to AP policies and procedures and AP leadership guidance
Prevent theft and shortage at the front of store by performing receipt checks for exposed high-dollar merchandise
Submit appropriate documentation in the system for all incidents following AP policy and procedures
Understand and appropriately use the video system
Train team members to apply merchandise protection and audit execution
Teach and train team members on operational shortage focus area opportunities as directed by AP leadership
Execute shortage action plans set by AP leadership to minimize shortage in focus areas
Model working safely while maintaining a clean store for guests and team members
Provide service and a shopping experience that meets the needs of the guest
Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety and compliance

Job Description
Under general supervision, the Supervising Building and Grounds Patrol Officer assists in supervising the overall security operations of assigned buildings and grounds. The essential functions of this job code include: supervising the line security operations of the assigned buildings and grounds; scheduling officers to meet security needs of the assigned buildings and grounds; observing and inspecting officers and their assigned areas to assure compliance with policies and procedures; monitoring and evaluating officer performance; carrying out transition procedures between shifts; assisting in incident resolution; providing ongoing employee training; communicating to appropriate management regarding maintenance and security conditions; resolving complaints and providing back-up support to officers.
The essential functions of this position include:
Supervises the line security operations of assigned buildings and grounds; conducts regular patrols of assigned buildings and grounds;
Observes and inspects officers and their assigned areas to assure compliance with established policies and procedures and the maintenance of professional standards; monitors and evaluates performance; carries out transition procedures between shifts; assists in incident resolution as needed; provides ongoing employee training;
Inspects buildings to ensure that they are properly secured;
When necessary, apprehends persons engaged in acts of vandalism and theft and turns them over to law enforcement agency or reports such action immediately to the law enforcement; questions persons seeking entry to public buildings; enforces security regulations.
