ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES The Essential Duties and Responsibilities are intended to present a descriptive list of the range of duties performed for this position and are not intended to reflect all duties performed within the job. Other duties may be assigned. Guards shall make routine checks of offices, laboratories, corridors, parking lots, storage sites, and other such locations, as appropriate for each round and tour. Turn off unnecessary lights; close windows; open, close, and secure doors; and check safes vaults, cabinets, and security doors, if possible. Annotate and make notifications of discrepancies found. Check machinery/equipment malfunctioning when alarms, unusual noises, and odors occur (if applicable). Also, report any evidence of potential fire hazards to the Visitor Control post or an authorized representative. Comply with established procedures, as outlined in Post Orders, pertaining to lost and found articles. Record the recovery of found property and attempt to identify and return property to their proper owner. After 24 hours, unclaimed found property shall be turned in to the Visitor Control Center. Exercises shall be documented and an after- action review conducted. SGOs failing to meet the minimum standards during annual requalification be allowed thirty (30) calendar days to successfully meet minimum standards. Physical Efficiency Battery: The PEB is a fitness test consisting of three differing components to measure the fitness level of the officer. The PEB is categorized by age and gender and with a graduated (percentile) scale that ranks officer's performance from the highest (99th percentile) to the lowest (1st percentile). As an example, a male between 35 to 39 years old is in the 99th percentile if they have 25.00 inches of flexibility, can push 172.14% of their body weight and can run 1.5 miles in 9:15. The same person would be in the 1st percentile with scores of 10 inches of flexibility, 51.50% of body weight pushed and a 1.5 mile run in 22:00. Requirements: * Bachelor's degree in Law Enforcement, Intelligence, Management related fields or an equivalent combination of training and experience. * The ability to obtain and maintain a DoW Top Secret clearance and ICD 704 eligibility for continued employment. * Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in a security operations position in the industrial security field supporting the DoW or Intelligence Community. * Knowledge concerning the NISPOM, DD- 254 requirements, Common Access Cards (CACs), Security Systems including CCTV, Access Control and Alarm Systems. * Prior experience with ID Badging Systems. * Infrequent travel to SEI and CMU locations is required; around 15%. Duties * You will need to have experience building and providing security briefings including clearance indoctrination, foreign travel, security awareness, and refresher training to individuals and groups. * Maintain an advanced level of situational awareness regarding current SEI security matters as well as the evolving rules of engagement instructed by government security authorities and established government, CMU, and SEI policies and standard practices. * Experience in handling the production, storage and transmission of classified documents, media and materials. * You will be expected to prepare the required documentation for cleared personnel and process security clearance applications; working with the applicant and agency to resolve any problems regarding the application. * Establishes and maintains personnel security files for all SCI eligible personnel. * You will be responsible for self-inspections of the SEI Personnel Security Program, identifying and resolving issues prior to DCSA and other customer inspections. * Identify potential security incidents or violations, investigate and report to resolve any threat to classified information or deviation from NISPOM, DCID or ICD requirements is quickly contained/addressed. * Experience managing the inventory and maintenance of safes, locks, and closed area management. * May on occasion require after-hours and weekend duty or response to emergency situations. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: * Demonstrates well-developed analytical, organization and problem solving skills; knowledge of general and security specific regulations, policies and practices. * Provide high level of support to both internal and external customers. * Skill to analyze data and situations, identify trends, summarize results, and make recommendations based on findings. * Excellent oral and written communication skills. * Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and relative Personnel Security systems such as DISS, e-QIP and other personnel security systems. * Maintain confidentiality of sensitive security records. * Ability to work as part of a team to accomplish goals and objectives. * Infrequent work in building construction areas. Work in access-restricted areas - SCIFs and server room installations. Desired Experience: * Professional training and certifications in Department of War National Industrial Security Program (NISP) including personnel security matters; Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) training including Understanding the Security curriculum. * Certified Protection Professional (CPP), Physical Security Professional (PSP) or Industrial Security Professional (ISP) professional certification. * Prior experience resulting in established liaison contacts with federal, state and local law enforcement agencies and intelligence community. * Prior experience conducting background investigations for US Government agencies. * Handling SCIF construction and accreditation. * Experience with the Security Information Management System (SIMS) software application. * Applied knowledge of all aspects of the DoW National Industrial Security Program (NISP) and work in an SCI and/or SAP environment.
