About this Position
Serve as an UnarmedSecurityOfficer at the OSUCOM-CN Tahlequah campus. As part of the Oklahoma State University Police Department's Tulsa Division, you will be a valued member of the unarmedsecurity team assigned to the Tahlequah campus. In this role, you will provide safety and security services to students, faculty, staff, and visitors at our state-of-the-art facility. You are entrusted with fostering a safe and inclusive environment through active engagement and proactive security patrols, contributing to the overall mission of the department and the university community.
Required Qualifications
High School/GED (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)
OSU requires a minimum of a high school/ GED for all professional positions. OSU recognizes that the public safety field is a knowledge skill-based position.
Certifications, Registrations, and/or Licenses:
Candidates must be CLEET certified or eligible for CLEET certification within 6 months of hire.

Job Description:
Maintain high visibility as a visual deterrent to crime and criminal element.
Answer routine questions for directions and handle minor problems.
Monitoring the entry and exit of personnel at Client Agency facilities
Observe and immediately report situations to the appropriate personnel, and/or emergency services via telephone, radio or any means possible.

Qualifications:
Must be mentally alert and capable of exercising good judgment, implementing instructions, and assimilating necessary specialized training.
Must have the ability to speak, read and write the English language.

Basic:
Must undergo a physical examination within six (6) months prior to their assignment.
Must successfully pass a pre employment drug screen examination within six (6) months prior to their assignment and present the results for inspection. The screen must have the ability to detect the use of: marijuana, cocaine, heroin, amphetamines, opiates, and benzodiazepines.
Must complete training in Security and Emergency Procedures, Crowd Control, Irate/Hostile individual and Public Relations
Must undergo training in matters of state policy regarding drug awareness, sexual harassment, workplace violence, discrimination, and prohibition of the use of equipment.
Successfully complete training for operating electronic computer and/or alarm and communication systems.
Must undergo formal training, if necessary.

What You'll Do:
Provide customer service to clients by carrying out access control screening procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at an aerospace and defense location.

Position Overview

About the Position:
Campus Security Patrol plays a vital role in creating and maintaining a safe and secure environment for faculty, staff, guests, and students. This role is a public-facing position in the Campus Security department, spending most of its time in public areas of the facilities and grounds, interacting with team members, guests, and students. Security Patrol executes emergency response procedures when needed, including first aid, building and environmental emergency response, de-escalation, and coordinating with EMS/Fire/Police when on campus.
Strong communication, organizational and technological skills are required to simultaneously attend daily responsibilities, take charge in emergency situations, and support the security and safety needs of many campus-sponsored events.
Campus Security Patrol can expect to work evenings and weekends, including large events across multiple venues, regularly to support campus operations. Key Roles & Responsibilities
Patrol interior and outdoor spaces across the campus to establish presence.

Position Overview

Provide Walton Arts Center/Walmart AMP Guests accurate event and facility information.
Enforce facility policies (i.e., no smoking, no re-entry) and procedures throughout the building.
Respond to emergencies as necessary.
Aid in direction of orderly evacuation of the building during emergencies.
Deal with patron problems and complaints up to the level where intervention by a Security Supervisor is required.
Minimum 1 year experience in a position where interacting with the public to provide services was a requirement of the job.
Excellent knowledge of public safety and security procedures and protocols.
Ability to remain calm and perform duties under pressure and time limits
Reliable and punctual.
Able to secure transportation to and from work when scheduled.
Willing and able to interact with the organization through digital means via web page, smartphone apps or otherwise for the purposes of communicating schedule, shift notes and other necessary information with supervisor and colleagues.
Preferred Qualifications
We encourage applicants with a wide range of relevant experiences and skills to apply. Experience in emergency response, military service, or similar high-stress environments is valued, but not required.

Ability to work in a variety of environments, including but not limited to heights, elevators, darkened areas, around crowds, loud noise, and flashing lights.
