ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The Essential Duties and Responsibilities are intended to present a descriptive list of the range of duties performed for this position and are not intended to reflect all duties performed within the job. Other duties may be assigned.
Perform transportation duties per PBNDS Standards and Training.
Ensure all detainee transports are documented and detainee records and possessions are safeguarded at all times. Provide trip documentation to the Transportation Coordinator in a timely manner.
Notify Operations Supervisor, Transportation Coordinator and/or Project Manager of any route variations.
Ensure that any required detainee documentation is obtained from the transferring facility/agency prior to departure.
Ensure that assigned vehicle maintenance and service records are in corresponding binders.
Report any safety related transportation issues immediately and complete a vehicle repair order and give to the Supervisor in charge of Fleet Management.
Conduct pre-trip vehicle inspections on your assigned vehicle prior to departing the hub.
Ensure all required equipment is present in your assigned vehicle prior to departing. This shall include, but not limited to, first aid kits, insurance card, flares, security devices, etc. (See equipment list assigned to each vehicle.)
Report for work at your scheduled time (assigned by Operations Supervisor daily).
If assigned to a stationary guard post, such as hospital duty, ensure compliance with Post Orders and hospital protocol.
Ensure you have in your possession at all times; guard card, weapons permit, ICE ID, Company ID, medical card (if applicable).
Complete post vehicle check at the completion of your assignment.
Forward any gas receipts to the Supervisor in charge of Fleet Management.
Report any accidents, incidents and/or injuries associated with your transportation duties. Complete any required incident reports and/or documentation prior to your departure.
Complete a Record of Presence (ROP), equipment and key sign in/out sheet and all associated paperwork necessary on a daily basis
Transport Officers are required to maintain a valid Armed Guard/Firearms permit as part of their qualifications to perform transport duties. Maintenance includes passing the periodic firearms recertification. Officers who fail to maintain their armed guard/firearms permit may not be assigned to Transportation duties.
The Contractor shall certify proficiency every quarter. Training curriculum shall include Use of Force training, Tactics, Weapon Safety, and Range Qualifications.
All Armed Officers are required to recertify with their issued duty handgun at periodicities set forth in the Federal contract or state requirements. Officers must achieve a minimum score of 200 or 80% out of 250 points and must demonstrate safe handling and manipulation of their weapon (or as mandated by state requirements).

SCOPE OF DUTIES
Under the supervision of the Security Co-Chiefs or their designee, will conduct continual tours throughout the grounds and buildings to ensure overall security of the campus.
PRIMARY DUTIES
Monitor cameras and fire alarms.
Perform fire drills and lockdown drills as required.
Perform monthly checks of other devices to include, but not limited to, emergency lighting, exterior lighting. Report any deficiencies via email to the Assistant Director of Operations and the Security Chief. Submit SchoolDude to Plant Operations.
Handle transport needs of staff and students requiring medical assistance to the SHC.
Assist staff and/or students during emergencies.
Provide written reports of any unusual activities using the Daily Activity Report and, when necessary, the Incident Report.
Monitor areas in buildings or outside when used by staff or particularly outside organizations. Secure building areas when events are finished and the area is vacated.
Report through emails and/or SchoolDudes all exit, stairway and exterior lights in need of repair.
Report any unusual conditions such as loss of power, heat, telephone, fire alarms, etc. to the Director of Plant Operations or his assistant immediately. Also, notify the Assistant Director of Operations.
Responsible for covering weekend and holiday shifts. Should also be willing to accept other shifts as needed (i.e. coverage for vacation/sick leave time, etc.).
Willingness to work overtime as needed.
Perform monthly equipment checks as directed by the Security Co-Chiefs.
Other related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Optimus Healthcare is looking for a Security Guard with 2-3 years experience and healthcare experience is a plus. This position is 40 hours per week and every other Saturday.
POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for the security of employees, patients, and visitors, and for the detection of hazardous or unsafe conditions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSBILITIES
Secures premises and personnel by patrolling property; monitoring surveillance equipment; inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points; permitting entry.
Prevents losses and damage by reporting irregularities; informing violators of policy and procedures; restraining trespassers.
Maintains organization's stability and reputation by complying with legal requirements.
Turn on the security system and lights in the health center.
Unlock necessary hall doors for staff entry.
Secure and lock buildings at the close of business.
Implement the instructions for Evacuation as instructed by the Director of Facilities.
Work according to the schedule decided at the weekly department staff meeting.
Attend the department and all staff meetings.
Comply with company's mission, Infection Control, OSHA, DPH rules and regulation.
Must maintain appropriate attendance.
Performs miscellaneous duties as required by management.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
Knowledge of relevant public safety codes and security procedures
Attention to their environment and premises as well as attention to small details
Sufficient verbal and written communications skills to perform the tasks required.
Ability to read and follow instructions.
Ability to deal tactfully with patients, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public.
Ability to respect patients including those who have impaired cognition.
EDUCATION:
High school graduate preferred or GED
EXPERIENCE:
* two years' experience as security personnel
* Flexibility to work days, weekends and evenings as required.
* Flexibility to work at multiple sites
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Bi-Lingual preferred (Spanish) but not required
LICENSURE / CERTIFICATION:
Connecticut driver's license required
Active guard card issued by the State of Connecticut
