Carolina Air Care is a CAMTS accredited critical care and emergency transportation agency serving North Carolina and surrounding areas since 1986. Our assets are comprised of four helicopters as well as a fleet of ambulances dispatched by our communications center "Flightwatch" - all operating 24 hours a day.
Helicopter bases are located in Burlington, Aberdeen, Goldsboro, and Rocky Mount. Rotor wing aircraft are staffed with one nurse and one paramedic. They respond to both emergency scene requests as well as interfacility transfers of critically ill patients Our ground assets are located throughout the Triangle.
In addition to the Critical Care Transport teams for the majority of our missions, we also have two dedicated Neonatal Specialty Care Teams, which care for our smallest patients.
Along with our Medical Directors, the Education Team ensures that the high standards of Carolina Air Care are maintained through continuing education, evidence-based medicine, equipment training, high fidelity simulations, research studies, and new hire assessments.

Summary:
Provide safe and timely ground transport of patients, while also providing basic and critical care life support to patients.
Responsibilities:
1. Monitors patient condition during ground transport to provide optimal stabilization through a critical care level of expertise, including mechanical ventilation, ECMO, Balloon Pump, ventricular assist devices and advanced monitoring
2. Monitors communication equipment and communicates with dispatch personnel, medical staff, family members and other stakeholders: * Ensures relevant information is collected and proper treatment is administered. * Communicates assessments and plan of care in a professional manner with the appropriate personnel.
3. Documents patients' status, delivery of care and evaluation of the patients' response to care according to unit specific procedures and established protocols.
4. Contacts physicians for guidance, as needed, and follows treatment protocols as described by UNC Hospitals Critical Care Transport Medical Direction.
5. Monitors patient condition during transport to provide optimal stabilization.
6. Operates various medical and mechanical equipment in the pre-hospital, hospital, and aviation environment. Ensures that medical equipment is functional and operational during transport. Restocks supplies as needed and, notifies staff of needed equipment repairs.
7. Operates extensive medical and mechanical equipment in the hospital and transport environment, such as multimodality ventilators capable of invasive ventilation and monitors with invasive hemodynamic capabilities. Ensures all medical equipment is functioning; restocks medical supplies as needed.
8. Obtains direction regarding further advanced care from medical staff. Delivers emergency and critical care, such as rapid sequence induction, medication assisted intubation, surgical airway, management of thoracostomy tubes, ability to manage central lines, blood product infusion, continuous temperature management, fetal heart monitoring, and central line placement, in accordance with protocols under UNC Hospitals Critical Care Transport Medical Direction
9. Participates in plan of care for critical patients and require transport from referring institutions as well as using advanced medications to control blood pressure, heart rate, arrhythmias, and sedation.

• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) provider certification
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) provider certification
• Basic Life Support (BLS) provider certification
• Trauma certification such as ITLS, PHTLS or TNCC
• Professional certification required within 18 months of hire-includes CCEMT-P (preferred), FPC, or CCP-C; must obtain FP-C prior to assessment for Flight

Professional Experience Requirements:
• Three (3) years of Paramedic experience in a high volume ALS EMS service or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Minimum of 3 years full time prehospital EMS experience in high volume service OR Critical Care Transport experience needed for this role. Five (5) years' experience with a combination of EMS and Critical Care Transport experience is preferred.

This is a 15-bed unit dedicated to caring for abdominal transplant, urology and plastic surgery patients. Our patient care team delivers highly specialized cutting-edge care. Each year, we perform over 125 kidney, pancreas, and liver transplants. Our transplant program is certified by the American Society of Transplant Surgeons and is one of the most accomplished and devoted transplant teams in the region. We strive to improve clinical outcomes through an interprofessional approach of education, research, and clinical medicine. We are the inpatient home for the nationally ranked UNC Urology partnering with the physicians to deliver individualized care in a coordinated and compassionate manner. In addition to urology and abdominal transplant, our staff cares for high-risk plastic surgery patients requiring reconstructive grafts and surgery related to tissue injuries. These patients have complex wound management needs, which our expert staff manages.

Clinical Support Technician II needed for Critical Care Unit (CCU). The CCU is an 18 bed unit that provides comprehensive medical and surgical care to the most medically fragile adults.
This position is located at the Hillsborough Campus. UNC Health Care Hillsborough Campus is a community hospital which is an extension of UNC Medical Center focusing on many of our elective surgical programs. The 163‐bed facility combines a community hospital culture with the innovative procedures and care for which the UNC Medical Center is known. Summary:

Edits EKGs.
Provides new user training for editing.
Serves as expert resource for MUSE for hospital departments and physicians.
Performs other duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For Education: High School or GED, required.
High School graduate or equivalent.
Experience:History of healthcare related job, preferred.
Additional Skills Required: Medical terminology and CPR-basic.
Ability to operate electronic and computer-based equipment.
Ability to recognize technical inferior EKG and take corrective action as appropriate.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Demonstrate thorough knowledge of cardiac monitor interpretation, skills, and abilities.
Must practice appropriate communication skills and sensitivity to patient's needs.
Must demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age, principles of growth and development over the life span and to accommodate cultural diversity among the patients being served.
Must be able to assess and interpret data about the patient's status, to identify each patient's population specific or behavioral needs and provide the care as needed.
Must be able to effectively teach others on cardiac rhythms.
