Evaluate hearing or speech and language test results, barium swallow results, and medical or background information to diagnose and plan treatment for speech, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing disorder * Conducts speech, language, and hearing screenings * Administers hearing or speech and language examinations to patients to collect information on type and degree of impairments, using written and oral tests and special instruments * Evaluate patient's physical and mental abilities and analyze data to determine realistic rehabilitation plan of care * Review regularly physician's referral and patient's medical records to help determine diagnosis and treatment required * Record prognosis, treatment, response, and progress in patient's chart * Educate patients in techniques for more effective communication including voice improvement * Develop individual activities and programs to identify and improve behavior, speech, language, or swallowing problems * Implement treatment plans for problems such as stuttering, delayed language, swallowing disorders, and inappropriate pitch or harsh voice problems, based on own assessments and recommendations of physicians, psychologists, or social workers * Prepares a wide variety of written materials (e.g. IEP reports/evaluations) * Maintains patient records confidentially * Manage equipment and materials including assistive technology utilized in treatments * Document and identify progress and plans for reevaluation * Evaluates effects of treatment and adjust treatment to maximize benefit * Facilitate social adjustment and prevent physical or mental disability * * Evaluates Patients in a comprehensive age-appropriate manner.
