The Underwriter Level III is responsible for the analysis of submitted conventional, USDA, FHA Total Scorecard and Manual, VA Test Cases, HMFA/DPA Products for repayment capacity, capital, character, collateral, and property condition while adhering to Nations Lending Corp credit policies, agency guidelines, and investor overlays
ESSENTIAL FUNCITONS
Review initial submission loan files for completeness, accuracy and compliance with Company, Agency and/or Investor guidelines.
Review and clear conditions
Develops and maintains an up to date and sound knowledge of multiple loan product guidelines offered by the Company, DU/LP Guidelines, and risk assessment tools used to decision mortgage loans.
Reworks loans to new terms, identified additional conditions as needed to insure a viable credit decision
Reviews and evaluates borrower(s) profile including but not limited to all income documentation, tax returns, credit reports, preliminary title report, judgments, bankruptcy documents and appraisals
Analyzes and calculates income documentation such as personal and business income statements and ensures all necessary documentation is requested to support final loan decisions
Exercises good judgment, conducts reasonableness tests and issues quality decisions
Determines accuracy and completeness of files; ensures processes are consistent
Demonstrates proficiency in automated underwriting systems (DU/LP)
Maintains pre-established service level standard of decisions within time-frame set by Company
Communicates regularly with sales team, processors and management
Assists in the preparation of repurchase responses and/or rebuttal reviews
Use all automated underwriting engine to review, analyze and underwrite loan files on first mortgage loans.
Check to ensure chain of title meets agency requirements and verify no unpaid liens or judgments.

Requirements

Position Overview:
The Post Closing Underwriter is responsible for coordinating the resolution of conditions identified by the investor during purchase review. To resolve conditions, this role researches the loan file, clarifies any ambiguities or potential concerns with the investor, identifies alternative solutions, collaborates with clients and relevant departments (including borrower contact) to obtain additional or corrected documentation, remains current with investor guidelines, and requests exceptions as needed to clear loans for purchase in a timely manner. Conduct daily review of deficiency loan pipelines within investor sites to identify suspended loans requiring remediation.
Analyze and validate all suspense conditions and provide resolution by the cure by date.
Review and obtain clarity from the investor when needed to determine documentation needed to cure defect(s).
Review the closed loan file to determine if suspense item(s) are already in the loan file.
Perform Due Diligence review of assigned TRID conditions to determine whether the mortgage loan disclosures are accurate and comply with regulation timelines.
Complete data input for issuance of Post Consummation Closing Disclosure - verifying all final fees are accurate and reconcile to the Final Settlement Statement.
Review and clear income calculations and asset investor deficiencies.
Work with internal and external departments and borrowers to obtain needed documentation to cure deficient loans timely.
Prepare formal written responses to agencies and investors in which an audit has been performed and deficiencies discovered.
Accurately track and record all loan file events and communications.
Monitor daily condition reports from the investor for updates on deficient loans or new conditions as received.
Monitor aged loans in the active pipeline until purchased by the investor.
Stay current with agency and investor guidelines and overlays to ensure underwriting compliance.

Comprehensive Risk Assessment:
Analyze detailed application information, and other relevant data submitted in the renewal and new business activities process to determine the risks inherent to potential clients' activity, considering factors like business exposure, operational and contractual risk management processes, tangible and intangible liabilities.
Decision Making:

Reviewing underwriting / pricing exhibits (i.e., Account Summaries, Loss Runs, Internet Research e.g. Risk Meter CoreLogic, Rate Sheets, etc.).
Managing/overseeing account documentation (i.e., Account Clearance, Acknowledgement Letters, Underwriting Documentation, Closing Letters) as needed.
Complex Case Management:
Handle intricate cases requiring in-depth analysis, including negotiating terms and conditions with clients or brokers on high-value insurance programs.
Underwriting Team Leadership:
Mentor and guide junior underwriters, reviewing their work and providing feedback to ensure quality standards are met.
Policy Development:
Participate in the development and refinement of underwriting policies and procedures to adapt to market changes and risk mitigation strategies, or any projects/assignments as needed.
Data Analysis and Reporting:
