Department Operational Support
Processes small business credit applications; verifies credit references and information and prepares loan presentations for approval by the Loan Executive Committee.

Completes a thorough, in-depth analysis of new small business credit requests, credit requests, renewals and annual relationship reviews. May obtain information through direct inspection of the applicant's business and/or collateral, review of interim financial reports, personal interviews, and other means.
Prepares spreadsheets, loan approval request forms, term loan reviews and summarizes opinions on new, renewing and existing loans.
Orders, reviews and documents any concerns with reports required in the loan process including, but not limited to, title commitments, appraisals, environmental reports, purchase agreements and legal opinion letters. Reports findings and concerns to the VP Commercial Lending or above.
Monitors loan repayment activities and provides information about delinquent loans to the appropriate loan officer.
Reviews and assures all credit and loan files are accurately maintained and up-to-date.
Handles member complaints and takes appropriate action to resolve them.
Compliance & Policy Adherence
Assists the VP Commercial Lending Services with providing regulators and auditors with requested information needed to assess compliance with loan audits, reviews and policy and procedures.
Performs property inspection and risk rating analysis as part of the annual term loan review process. Recommends risk rating changes when analysis merits.
Reviews loan agreements to ensure they are complete and accurate according to policy.

WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY? The role of the Underwriter III is to evaluate the credit risk against company standards and to determine the borrower's ability to repay a residential mortgage. The Underwriter III is also responsible for LLCs along with other complex borrower types. The Underwriter III works within established lending authorities and guidelines, with complex or unusual situations escalated to the next highest authority level for resolution. This includes mentoring and training of Underwriters I and II including second level reviews.
What you will do
* Reviews the loan package received to ensure completeness verifying that all supporting documents are included to make a credit decision per established policies
* Identifies issues and recommends appropriate resolution within policy service level agreements
* Analyzes and determines the financial capacity of the borrower's ability to repay:
* Performs credit analysis, financial statement analysis, cash flow analysis, liquidity qualification and payment calculation spreads
* Reviews for stability of residency and employment
* Verifies income per established policy
* Identifies any exceptions to current policies
