**Company** HSB , United States A Portfolio Risk Solutions (PRS) Underwriter has responsibility to manage, monitor, expand, and optimize HSB's portfolio products for assigned Client Companies, with a focus on achieving Profit and Growth targets. Working closely with Product Managers and with general oversight from the Underwriting Lead, the PRS Underwriter will deploy creative approaches for data analysis (including but not limited to diagnostic and predictive analytics) to understand and optimize product performance. These analytical approaches are used to design surgical strategies for corrective action to ensure rate adequacy, appropriate price segmentation & detection of leading loss trends. This includes analyzing claims, engineering, expenses, exposure data/profile shifts, pure premium trends & 3rd party exposure data.
The PRS Underwriter is responsible for delivering powerful client presentations (externally) to communicate financial results, data analysis, rate analysis & emerging loss trends. The PRS Underwriter is the technical expert for both our Client and Client Integration Team.
A PRS Underwriter has underwriting binding authority to independently make underwriting decisions that drive their assigned portfolio's financial results, subsequently impacting the business' P&L.
The PRS Underwriter has product knowledge for all HSB PRS products with a focus on supporting the products, services and enhancements for each product. This is accomplished by striving to achieve a deep understanding of coverage and communicating the value of our products to existing clients and prospective clients.
Education and Experience:
+ Bachelors or equivalent work experience is required
+ 5+ years of P&C insurance/reinsurance experience is required;
+ 3+ years in underwriting preferred
+ Demonstrated understanding of commercial and personal lines insurance and reinsurance coverage, concepts, principles, exposures and processes to drive profitable results

Northfield Excess & Surplus (E&S) Brokerage offers a wide array of insurance products to wholesale brokers. The Account Executive Officer (AEO), Northfield E&S Brokerage will partner with wholesale brokers to provide Casualty coverage for new business based on customers' needs. This role is seen as a technical resource.
As an AEO, you are decisive, detail-oriented, and know how to build relationships internally and externally to drive results. Your ability to independently assess complex risk and sell our products in challenging markets will contribute to the profitability and success of Travelers.

* Manage the profitability, growth, and retention of an assigned book of business.
