Executing an appraisal analysis to determine that acceptable collateral standards are met.
Additional related duties may be assigned, as required.
Available to processors for general guideline interpretations and questions on specific loan files.
Responds to post closing reviews and audits in a timely fashion.

Qualifications
Minimum five years of recent NON-QM mortgage underwriting experience, with solid working knowledge of underwriting guidelines to include FNMA, FHLMC, and NON-QM Investors.
Ability to review & calculate complex personal and/or business financials and tax profiles.
Excellent written and verbal communication.
Experience working in a fast-paced team environment.

Kinetic Personnel Group is seeking an Underwriting Customer Service Representative for an auto insurance company in Monrovia, CA. This position serves as the focal point for underwriting new business and policy changes by reviewing, accepting, or rejecting applications submitted by producers. The role also provides ongoing policyholder and producer support, handling underwriting-related customer service calls and administrative tasks in a fast-paced underwriting department.
Responsibilities
Underwrite and process new business applications and review underwriting change requests
Order and review CLUE reports and Motor Vehicle Reports (MVRs)
Process endorsements, cancellations, reinstatements, and non-renewals
Maintain a suspense list and follow up with producers via phone or email to obtain missing or incomplete information
Handle incoming calls from policyholders and producers regarding coverage explanations and payment schedules
Conduct business and commercial investigations related to applications and endorsements
Complete underwriting notifications, follow-up letters, diary notes, and documentation
Work nightly batch logs, review and process uploads, and prepare Letters of Experience
Report producer-related issues to the Marketing Department
Interpret and maintain familiarity with underwriting guidelines
Perform miscellaneous underwriting tasks including return mail, walk-in customer service, claim notifications, waiver/exclusion reviews, and processing indexed or scanned items
Assist with underwriting reports, projects, and departmental initiatives
Perform miscellaneous accounting-related tasks such as reviewing refund checks, EFT forms, and working with accounting reports
Prepare claims subpoena requests for documentation as needed
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required
Basic understanding of auto insurance required
Ability to accurately and efficiently enter data into an administration system
Strong mathematical aptitude and communication skills
Spanish-speaking a plus
Prior underwriting or insurance experience preferred

The Underwriter is responsible for performing a complete credit assessment review to ensure compliance with appropriate company, agency, and secondary market investor standards to issue a loan decision. The Underwriter must evaluate loans to minimize risk and loss, maximize organizational profit, and clearly communicate a sound credit decision.
Responsibilities
Review assigned loans and issue a credit decision based on program guidelines and risk evaluation.
Validate accuracy of information presented on consumer's loan application.
Evaluate documentation to verify authenticity and consistency based on information presented within the consumer's loan application.
Request supporting documentation as necessary to satisfy all necessary guidelines and requirements.
Investigate applicant credit and employment history, calculate income, evaluate assets, assess consumer's ability to repay, and ensure collateral is supported.
Perform due diligence using provided tools, searches, and other methods to identify any discrepancies and minimize risk of misrepresentation or fraud on any given loan.
Monitor pipeline of various loan types to ensure loans are reviewed within a timely manner.
Review resubmissions and conditions and provide appropriate loan status updates to team members.
Provide excellent customer service and communication with both internal and external customers.
Respond to status requests, clarifications, and other service-related questions.
Ensure use of company's credit and underwriting policies and follow all applicable regulations, policies, procedures, and protocol when making credit decisions.
Recognize and escalate issues for second level review to a manager as necessary.
Complete final credit approval and sign off, ensuring all documentation within the loan file is satisfactory and in a deliverable state.
Review aged or problem loans as needed to assist with difficult loans to ensure they are saleable.
Review and respond to post-closing inquiries or errors as needed to resolve issues.
Participate in various department meetings and trainings (procedure changes, new programs, etc.).
Carry out other tasks as assigned.
