About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Health Insurance Underwriter to manage a large group book of business. This role is critical in ensuring revenue, margin, and membership goals are met through expert underwriting, risk analysis, and collaboration with Sales.

Key Responsibilities
* Underwrite and rate large group health insurance policies to meet financial and membership targets.
* Analyze underwriting risk and determine premium rates for fully insured groups and funding rates for ASO groups.
* Collaborate closely with Sales to support benefit and funding plan design discussions.
* Provide consultative support to internal and external stakeholders.
* Make decisions within established underwriting guidelines and departmental policies.
* Produce regular and ad hoc reports for Underwriting Management.
* Participate in final rate and benefit discussions with clients.
* Assist in training underwriting and sales staff on rating principles and practices.

Required Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree (preferably in Mathematics or a related field)
* In lieu of a degree, 5+ years of relevant experience will be considered.
* 3-5 years of experience in health insurance underwriting.
* Strong math and Excel skills.
* Experience reviewing health claims and comparing them to financials.
* Ability to work independently in a high-volume environment.
