Essential Functions:
Manages the selection, growth, and maintenance of a profitable portfolio within an assigned territory within assigned underwriting authority.

Summary/Objective
Senior Underwriters use statistical, analytical and judgmental underwriting methods to make Credit / Risk decisions on Small Business loan requests. This position ensures that files are reviewed, approved and funded, when applicable, in an efficient and timely manner. This position is responsible for retaining positive working relationships both internally and externally
Essential Functions
Reviews and determines outcomes of funding requests on files that don't fit traditional loan models.
Performs a check of all incoming documentation including verifying documents for accuracy using company and lender guidelines on manually funded transactions.
Generates contract requests and collects all necessary information prior to funding.
Works directly with the sales team and other parties internally and externally to resolution.
Maintains constant email and task-based communication with representatives at other firms.
Utilizes the internet and other resources to verify information's accuracy.
Possesses the ability to interpret a credit approval and the ability to understand how to clear credit stipulations and to gather the proper supporting documentation to do so.
Possesses the ability to understand the structure of a working capital business loan and advance.
Possesses the ability to work with and maintain strong relationships both internally and externally.

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Physical Demands
This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bending or standing on a stool as necessary.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work or variable shifts such as four 10-hour workdays may be required based on operational needs.
Required Education and Experience
Minimum of four years' experience in an underwriting environment making credit decisions.
