Work directly with the underwriter to ensure profitability and growth by classifying and pricing new business, renewal retention, coding and rating policies and processing endorsements. This position provides both underwriting and administrative support to the Underwriting Unit.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:

* Takes information from underwriters and agents on renewals, endorsements, and new business to correctly code and rate.
* Directs requests for missing information to underwriters and agents.

While this position will be based out of our New York City, NY office, you will have the flexibility to work both in the office and remotely. You will partner with your manager to set a flexible work schedule that supports you, our customers, and our brokers and agents. This role will require you to be visible in the marketplace to meet with our agents and brokers and be in the office one day a week for a team.

Middle Markets is a key business segment within Zurich and we are focused on attracting top customer advocates who possess a sales mindset, strong technical underwriting skills and solution focused problem solving abilities. Our industry focus includes (not limited to) General Industries, Manufacturing, Technology, and Real Estate. Zurich Middle Markets offers end to end solutions for our customers inclusive of international programs. As a Senior Technology Underwriter, you will handle complex new and renewal Middle Markets business and serve as a Subject Matter Expert for the Technology practice. As a member of Zurich's Underwriting Team, you will enjoy the opportunity to fully apply and hone your underwriting and marketing skills while building relationships with our Preferred Distribution Partners within the East region. The salary range for the Market Facing Underwriter Mid-Senior role in New York City is $98,800-$123,500. The salary ranger for the Market Facing Underwriter Senior role in New York City is $126,100-$157,600. This is the range Zurich NA in good faith believes is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of the posting. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in New York City . Base pay offered may vary depending on, but not limited to education, experience, skills, geographic location, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business needs. This range may be modified in the future. This job is also bonus eligible. No amount is considered to be wages or compensation until such amount is earned, vested, and determinable .

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
•Review incoming policy specification inquiries and/or Renewal Questionnaires and recognize changes that need to be addressed and/or referred
•Provide customer support via phone and e-mail to policyholders or brokers related to questions about providing documentation, payment by phone and certificate requests
•Verify accuracy and completeness of information necessary to process changes
•Process mid-term changes and issue new business and renewal policies
•Take action on any specific renewal activities or instructions
•Manage all work assignments and plan for date sensitive activities in advance of taking PTO
•When unsure of how to handle a particular situation, seek advice and guidance from supervisor or other senior staff
•Handles certificate requests from customers in a timely fashion. If the certificates require more attention, they are to be sent to our certificate of insurance processors for completion

Required Qualifications and Experience:
•High school diploma or equivalent required
•Ability to work with a high degree of accuracy and strong attention to detail
•Strong communications skills (verbal, written and active listening)
