JOB PURPOSE Reporting into the Manufacturing Excellence Manager, you are directly involved with leading change and making sure our factory stays World Class, which means zero defects, zero waste and zero losses. As a Process Engineer, you will utilize your full range of Continuous Improvement methods and tools to identify, prioritize, and eliminate factory losses working autonomously or with cross functional partnership. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Demonstrate strong troubleshooting capabilities with process and packing equipment
• Responsible for the improvement of waste and performance metrics for assigned production lines
• Increase stability of the production line to support our vision from traditional line teams to a semi-autonomous team
• Prioritize projects through data stratification of factory downtime and waste data
• Identify growth and savings opportunities within the factory and develop business cases around them
• Manage small projects from ideation through implementation
• Work closely with operators and maintenance team during continuous improvement activities and act as the technical trainer when needed
• Provide coaching in phenomena identification, root cause analysis, and the establishment of countermeasures
• Any other responsibilities as needed
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• 2-5 years of hands-on engineering experience within a CPG/FMCG production facility
• BS in an engineering field (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Industrial)
• Experience executing projects using Continuous Improvement methodology (TPM / WCM /Kaizen / Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Six Sigma Certification (nice to have)
• Basic knowledge of electrical circuits (nice to have)
• Familiar with controls and automation with Rockwell PLCs (nice to have)
• Union factory experience (nice to have)
Pay: The pay range for this position is $69,360 to $104,040. Unilever takes into consideration a wide range of factors that are utilized in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, qualifications and education, and other business and organizational needs.
Bonus: This position is bonus eligible.

What's the Short Version?
The Process Optimization Engineer works directly with stakeholders in Distribution, IT, and other SanMar business areas to implement new projects and execute continuous improvements in SanMar's distribution facing systems and processes. The Process Optimization Engineer is a subject matter expert for SanMar distribution systems, including HighJump WMS, Proship Parcel Management; voice, RF and scanning hardware, print and bagging hardware and media, automations (goods-to-person), and 3rd party solutions.
What Will You Be Doing?
Lead implementation of continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing SanMar's distributions systems and processes.
Work with stakeholders and end users to plan and execute solutions that meet business needs and ensure best operational practice.
Research, analyze, and troubleshoot SanMar distribution systems; understands the operation and dependencies of the solutions and processes, and how they are used by business customers.
Assist Project/Program Managers with creation of detailed project plans and frameworks; lead execution of critical project milestones and related status reporting.
Act as point-of-contact for vendors and industry members regarding distribution related solutions and related peripherals.
Provide Tier III functional support and training to Distribution staff and first/second line IT support teams; escalates to technical resources as appropriate.
Create documentation for systems, tools, and processes for internal team and IT Service Desk use.
Subject matter expert for distribution systems end users.
Work closely with technical teams to identify, design and deliver changes to system environments; ensures technical projects are in lock-step with functional requirements.

What Are We Looking For?
Bachelor's Degree in an Industrial Engineering or Technology Discipline or equivalent industry experience
1-3 years of experience delivering continuous improvement initiatives in a distribution or comparable setting, using recognized methodologies such as Lean/Six Sigma
1-3 years of experience using technology-based distribution systems
1-3 years of customer service functional and/or technical support experience is preferred
Familiarity with HighJump/Korber, Infios, Proship Parcel Management, WMS equipment (Voice, RF, Scanning)

Salary Range: You`ll earn between $80,000 - $105,000 annually, depending on experience.

Purpose and role of job:
Work with Product Development, Production, Planning, Quality Assurance, Maintenance, and Project Engineering. Provide support to product improvements; manufacturing cost & quality improvements; and manufacturing equipment utilization, reliability, speeds, scrap rates, and efficiency goals.
Principal Accountabilities/ Responsibilities:
* Work closely with the process engineering team to support daily production, coverage, and special projects.
* Develop technical leadership for continuous improvement projects on his/her assigned lines for improvements in efficiency, scrap, speeds, quality, and safety.
* Assists PD & QA on new product / process improvement and materials trials on his/her assigned production lines.
* Assists in maintaining, auditing, and updating as needed "Good Run" documentation, insuring process conditions and measurements are defined, documented, and shared with operators.
* Work closely with process engineer on his/her assigned lines to provide focused daily direction and technical support to crews and maintenance.
* Develop and lead an internal process improvement project aimed to improve efficiency, reduce waste and minimize variability.
* Insure OSHA and company procedural compliance in assigned lines activities.
Education and experience requirements:
* Bachelor's degree (or demonstrated progress toward a degree) in related field of study
* Minimum 3.0 GPA
* 0-3 years of experience, including academic projects
* Highly motivated, strong team player, with good ability to multi-task and prioritize as necessary
* Excellent verbal and written skills
* Authorization to work in the U.S.

Functions & Essential Duties Manufacturing Support
Identify bottlenecks and sources of waste, implementing system improvements to reduce costs and increase production efficiency.
Research, recommend, and implement new processes, technologies, and equipment to support continuous improvement and growth.
Participate in Kaizen events to increase productivity, reduce downtime, and eliminate scrap and unnecessary movements.
Support APQP activities by identifying requirements, taking direct action, and coordinating cross-functional efforts.
Implement detailed process plans for production lines, including documentation and bills of materials.
Administrative
Develop and maintain project schedules and budgets.
Ensure Bills of Materials (BOMs) are properly established and maintained.
Complete PFMEA documentation for new products.
Assist with quoting, sampling, and other departmental support activities as needed.
Prepare and present reports as required.
General Engineering & Design
Develop specifications for new product manufacturing systems.
Conceptualize, design, and implement new production equipment.
Conduct root-cause investigations and develop corrective actions, procedural updates, and training to eliminate risks.
Manage multiple projects involving production, equipment, and maintenance activities.
Perform design work using SolidWorks and AutoCAD as needed.
Authority:
Authorized to stop production if necessary to correct quality-related issues within the production process.
Education and Required Experience
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Industrial preferred). Equivalent experience may be considered.
Automotive industry experience preferred.
Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or TPS methodologies preferred.
Experience in tooling fabrication or design is a plus.
Skills
Strong communication, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to read, write, and understand English to effectively complete job responsibilities.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Minimum of three years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
Proficiency in CAD and 3D modeling; SolidWorks preferred.
