The Union County College in Cranford, New Jersey, provides exceptional education programs in the liberal arts while developing new programs and classes designed to meet the challenges and needs of our ever-evolving society. Students have the opportunity to participate in a range of student life activities. If you're looking to gain leadership skills and real-world career experience, you can join the Phi Theta Kappa honor society or work for the student newspaper. The school also offers many campus events like career panels, community service projects and academic seminars. Academic, personal and career counseling services are also available to all students. Academics include more than 75 associate's degrees in a variety of categories, like Administrative Support, Civil Construction Engineering, Education and Drama and the Fine Arts. Certificate programs are available in American Sign Language, Practical Nursing, Homeland Security and more. Admissions are open, allowing any student who is at least 18 years of age and has earned a high school diploma or GED the opportunity to enroll. All incoming students are required to take the Basic Skills Placement Test, which measures reading, writing and math skills. Tuition is set lower for Union County residents. Students who file a FAFSA will be considered to receive financial aid through the form of scholarships, grants and loans.
