The IT Service Desk Intern is the primary contact for all external offices regarding technical support issues. The goal is to support, educate and train decentralized office employees on applications and technology to diminish recurring future support requests and make each employee feel well supported and comfortable with technology. The position provides technical assistance and support for requests and incidents focusing heavily upon computer systems, software, hardware (including mobile devices). This position requires the ability to provide a response in person, in writing, or over the phone while sitting at a desk for long period of time.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides support through astute troubleshooting methodology
Address a full range of customer needs, including troubleshooting, technical assistance, system usage support, password resets, etc.
Document each customer interaction in the ticketing system in a clear, concise, and understandable format
Train customers to facilitate the future state of self-service, utilizing technology
Research and resolve customer calls that require follow-up
Complies with documented processes and works towards meeting expected service levels
Maintain accountability for incident prioritization and resolution
Monitor assigned incidents to ensure adequate and timely resolution in accordance with service levels
Respond to initial phone calls in a fast paced, help desk environment
Provide insight and recommendations to improve efficiency and workflows
Qualifications

Assist with user support related to mortgage origination tasks and LOS operations with professionalism, urgency, and attention to compliance and software best practices.
Support Corporate Trainers and collaborate with Encompass administrators and developers on enhancements, automation, and system improvements.
Support, maintain, and troubleshoot vendor permissions and access (DU, LPA, FHA Connection, GUS, credit providers, etc.).
IT Help Desk Responsibilities
Provide Level 1 & Level 2 technical support via phone, email, ticketing, and remote/in-person assistance.
Troubleshoot issues related to:
Active Directory & user accounts
Windows 10/11, computers, docks, peripherals
Microsoft 365, Teams, OneDrive, Outlook
VPN connectivity, MFA resets, OKTA

Required

Your Role

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Responsible for assisting in the development of solution requirements, planning and executing implementation, and advocating concepts with internal business groups
Build relationships with business function partners, understand their objectives, and establish trust and dialogue on how to support those needs
Enhance, maintain, and troubleshoot existing applications with assistance from team
Assist business stakeholders in prioritizing project work, articulate clear prioritization and business justification to technology teams and convey IT constraints and dependencies to business users.
Effectively communicate across business and technology teams to define project goals and objectives, solutions, and constraints
Take part in the development and maintaining of strong partnerships with software providers, including vendor selection, contract/SLA management, operational support and influence future roadmaps
Qualifications
SKILLS REQUIRED
Excellent problem-solving skills
Ability to write effective data and process documentation (including business and system requirements, business process diagrams and data flow diagrams).
Detail oriented with the ability to exercise sound judgment
Self-motivated individual with excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to take ownership of a project and manage multiple tasks simultaneously to meet established deadlines.
Appetite for learning new systems and technology for future incorporation or integration to the loan production solution set
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

The Summer Intern - Software Developer will report to and work within the Software Development department. The role includes training and hands-on experience as a full-stack professional software developer. As a full-stack developer, you will develop, enhance, maintain, and support our codebase of custom applications and interfaces to third-party vendor products. Work will be completed in both team and individual settings. Candidates must have permanent U.S. work authorization; we do not sponsor employment visas or accept students on a student visa.
What you will do:
Train as a full-stack professional software developer. Your training will be a blend of videos, reading, researching, coding exercises, and completing an initial project.
After training is completed, you will be assigned projects pulled from various Scrum Team's backlogs.
The work will primarily be web application development using Microsoft tools and frameworks deployed to Azure (Microsoft's cloud). You can expect to work in C#, Razor, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, MVC, WebForms, SQL, and Git. The tools you will use are Visual Studio for application development, SQL Server Management Studio for SQL coding, and Azure Pipelines for CI/CD.
Follow standards for each of the programming languages you use.
Apply software patterns and best practices to write code and automated tests.
Utilize Azure for CI/CD, searching code repositories, updating release variables, and researching issues.
Submit Pull Requests (PR) for changes you make to code. Your PRs will be reviewed for completeness, accuracy, and adherence to standards.
Meet regularly with your manager to provide updates on your progress.
Learn various parts of GuideStone's business.
Document learnings in markdown.
What you will need:
