Not sure I’ll make it to the retirement. Being treated badly gets very old very fast. Plan to never have a holiday off or anything that resembles a weekend job. Plan to be laid off in a mass layoff.

Cons of working at Union Pacific

Treated like you're in prison is the best way to describe it. I have been with UP for 15 years and still can not get anything close to summer for vacation. Work with your eyes closed because it don't matter what you say they will run it anyways.

Pros of working at Union Pacific

Good pay and comparable benefits to other companies.

Cons of working at Union Pacific

In the last 5 years the value of the employee has declined drastically and the Glassdoor rating shows it. They don't care about work life balance, mental health, stress levels, etc. It's very heavy with the good ole boy network with zero compassion or value for the people doing the work.
