Essential Job Duties * Adhere to all safety standards, work practices, policies and procedures established by the University, Manager of Facilities, and supervisor. * Sweep, mop, scrub floors, stairs, and other flooring surfaces; use light and heavy floor machines and attachments; scrub, strip, wax, and polish floors using industrial type cleaning agents and powered scrubber, buffer, and burnish. * Vacuum carpet in offices, classrooms, and public areas; shampoo carpet when directed by housekeeping supervisor. * Clean and dust furniture, exhibit cases, pictures, door trim, etc. as directed. * Clean hallways, entryways, lounges, and custodial closets as directed. * Adjust, oil, and clean scrubbers. Change brushes, pads, and other attachments. * Wash windowsills, glass, and trim in corridors and entryways. * Wash and/or spot clean walls, working on ladders as required. * Fully clean and service all lavatories and toilets in restrooms daily. * Collect trash and debris, place in collection area for removal; clean wastebaskets and replace liners. * Report items that need repair (lights, ceiling tile, doorstops, outlets, etc.); change light bulbs inside facilities as directed. * Work special events and Saturdays as assigned. Essential Job Duties * Teach applied piano, group piano classes, and theory and musicianship courses as assigned. Other Job Duties Required Qualifications Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master of Music degree in Piano Performance, Piano Pedagogy, Commerical Music, Jazz Studies, or equivalent is required. Candidates without a Masters degree but with experience in teaching, solo and collaborative performance, and ensemble coaching will be strongly considered. This position also requires the ability to work in a team leadership setting and strong collaborative skills. The ability to teach Music Theory and Aural Skills courses, Keyboard Improvisation techniques, and Group Piano classes is necessary. The candidate must also have the ability to perform in a variety of music styles, including but not limited to classical music, popular and rock music styles including improvisation, and jazz or blues. Preferred Qualifications Preference will be given to applicants with a Ph.D. or D.M.A. in Piano performance or equivalent. Extensive solo, symphonic, and/or chamber music performance experience and 3 years of university-level teaching experience in applied and class piano, theory and musicianship is preferred.
