Atkore Unistrut is the premium brand in Metal Framing, electrical and mechanical supports with a history dating back to 1920’s.
Everyone will remember Henry Ford and the first automobiles with combustion engines in 1920.
The original Unistrut system was if my information is correct invented in 1924 by Charles Attwood, at the time being the Attwood System.
Our company was founded in 1959 in Harvey, Illinois, where our corporate headquarters is currently located.
In 1960, the company began operation with a single tube mill – producing half-inch electrical conduit at the unheard-of rate of two feet per second.
Our organization is still to this day a family-run firm that began as a small local distributor in 1975.
In 1983, his son Mark joined the firm in sales.
In 1989, his son David joined, also in sales.
Scott Welch (Unistrut Indianapolis) joined in 1990.
In 2001, Mark and Dave took over distribution for Unistrut Indianapolis.
In 2002, Unistrut Toledo was acquired.
Michael Hoff (Unistrut Cincinnati) joined in 2007.
State of the art Atkore International manufacturing plant was inaugurated in 2011.
Brian Blust (Unistrut Detroit) joined in 2011.
In 2016, Unistrut Midwest grew by expansion starting with its Columbus, OH location.
