The Receptionist is responsible for welcoming patients and offering administrative support within a physician practice or center. This may include the following responsibilities: Greeting Patients: Welcome patients and visitors professionally, both in person and over the phone. Scheduling Appointments: Manage appointment calendars, schedule patient visits, and coordinate with medical staff to optimize schedules. Patient Records: Maintain and update patient records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality. Works in Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems. Billing and Payments: Ensure patient accounts are updated correctly. May include collecting copay at time of visit. Inquiries and Communication: Answer incoming calls, respond to patient inquiries, and provide general information. Office Management: Ensure the reception area is tidy, sanitized, and well-stocked with necessary materials. Administrative Support: Assist with other administrative tasks as needed, such as ordering supplies, managing office inventory, and sending courier packages. Decisions are limited to defined parameters around work expectations, quality standards, priorities and timing, and works under close supervision and/or within established policies/practices and guidelines with minimal opportunity for deviation.
