    Job DescriptionPosition Description: Dynamic top NMHC property management company seeks Accountant to help propel the company to new heights. Remote work is a possibility for the right individual. The Accountant will report to the Controller and will assist the properties in all aspects of the accounting and finance functions to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and will be a part of supporting site operations.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Maintains all aspects of accounting responsibilities for multiple properties to include: -Preparation of monthly financial information in accordance with deadlines and requirements -Close property books and prepare monthly financial statements and other schedules by analyzing general ledger accounts and property related reports -Analyze the cash requirements of properties, anticipate future cash needs and notify property management of future deficiencies -Prepare replacement reserve requests in a timely manner -Perform audit schedules, tax schedules, and budgeting -Monthly bank reconciliations -Calculation of monthly management fees and other fees -Monthly general ledger account analysis and balance sheet account reconciliation -Resolution of problems and issues as needed Research problems under the direction of the immediate supervisor as required Communicate with property owners and personnel as necessary Ensure adherence to policies and procedure and maintain effective internal controls Work as a team player in evaluating and resolving discrepancies, as needed Identify and implement process improvement Performs other duties as assigned MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS High school diploma or GED One to three years accounting experience Proficient in Excel, Word, and Outlook Onsite property management software experience preferred The ability to read and interpret complex tenant leases, real estate related agreements and construction contracts Team player with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy Excellent verbal and written communication skills Proactive organizational and task management skills JOB DIMENSIONS Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles Excellent verbal and written communication and listening skills Excellent customer service skills and communication Strong analytical and reasoning skills Strong organization skills and ability to multitask efficiently and independently High degree of responsibility and initiative Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact and relate effectively, productively, and positively with other employees Dependable, punctual, and reliable with a strong work ethic Well organized with the ability to plan work, cope with conflicting work pressures, establish appropriate priorities and meet deadlines. This position is responsible for accurate and timely preparation of quarterly financial reporting for this real estate portfolio, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal controls while overseeing the formation and predevelopment stages of portfolio investments. A key aspect of this role is its close collaboration with senior leadership, offering visibility and impact across the organization. Key Responsibilities Prepare and analyze quarterly financial reports for assigned projects Collaborate with regional accounting, construction/development, market leadership, and capital markets teams to support capital budgeting Set up wire transfers and review check batches to ensure timely and accurate payments Coordinate monthly and quarterly capital calls with Capital Markets to ensure sufficient funding Ensure consistency and accuracy of financial data across diverse markets and asset types Prepare and review monthly accruals and monitor cash flow to support critical payments Assist with quarterly funding requests and monitor capital call schedules Prepare and/or review monthly bank and balance sheet reconciliations for assigned entities Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and financial explanations Maintain and enhance reporting templates and tools for improved efficiency Provide ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as needed Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting; Senior Portfolio Accountant: 5+ years of accounting experience OR Portfolio Accountant: 2+ years of accounting experience Experience in commercial real estate, predevelopment, or partnership accounting preferred Understanding of capital budgeting and real estate financial metrics Proficiency in Excel and financial reporting tools; MRI or similar systems a plus Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for cross-departmental collaboration High attention to detail and strong analytical skills Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, cross-functional team environment Must be in-office for the first 90 days for onboarding and training Flexible hybrid schedule available based on performance (up to 2 remote days per week) #IND123 About Lincoln Property Company Lincoln Property Company (“Lincoln”) is one of the largest private real estate firms in the United States.
