Job Summary:
The Toolmaker A will be responsible for the fabrication, maintenance, repair, and modification of tools, dies, molds, jigs, and fixtures used in manufacturing processes.
We are seeking a 2nd Shift Tool Maker to join our team at Ideal Tridon Group!
Shift: 2nd 3:00pm-11:00pm
Schedule: Monday-Friday
Duties and Responsibilities:
Fabricates, maintains, repairs, and modifies various types of tooling, including molds, dies, jigs, and fixtures, to support production needs.
Sets up and operates manual and CNC machine tools, such as lathes, mills, grinders, and EDM machines, to perform machining operations on tooling components.
Conducts precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision measuring instruments to ensure dimensional accuracy and adherence to specifications.
Performs preventive maintenance tasks on tooling to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
Troubleshoots and diagnoses issues with tooling and implements corrective actions to resolve problems and minimize downtime.
Maintains accurate documentation of tooling maintenance, repair, and modification activities.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Abilities:
Proficiency in the fabrication, maintenance, and repair of various types of tooling, including molds, dies, jigs, and fixtures.
Experience in setting up and operating manual and CNC machine tools, such as lathes, mills, grinders, and EDM machines.
Precision measurement skills and ability to use calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision measuring instruments.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot issues with tooling.
Effective communication skills.
Attention to detail and ability to work with high precision and accuracy.
Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures in a manufacturing environment.

Education and Experince:
High school diploma or equivalent education and experience required.
Three years of experience in toolmaking, including fabrication, maintenance, and repair of tooling components required.
Well-rounded experience in metal stamping, training in the machine shop, and Toolroom practices (functions usually acquired through a formal Toolmaker apprenticeship or a minimum of 4 to 6 years equivalent Toolroom training or on-the-job experience in a metal stamping Toolroom environment with a formal machine shop or previous machine tool education.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and/or sitting and reaching with hands and arms.
May occasionally climb stairs, drive vehicles, and operate equipment.
Must be able to lift 80 pounds at a time.

Job Description
SIGN-ON BONUS: $1,000 ($500 paid after 30 days of employment, $500 paid after 90 days of employment)
Job Responsibilities:
Inspect vehicles to ensure the required repairs and work is satisfactorily completed.
Coordinate the workflow to ensure all vehicles are completed in a timely manner and in accordance with established Manheim quality standards.
Monitor process and work being performed to ensure SOPs are being followed properly.
Ensure the appropriate PPE and safety equipment is available and employees are properly trained in their use.
Responsible for ensuring all services are performed and appropriately charged against the vehicle.
Monitor and control the use of supplies, materials, and equipment for the Detail Shop, and coordinate the replenishment process.
Assist the Supervisor in the monitoring and implementing guidelines for a safe work environment and achieve compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations.
Visibly demonstrate safety commitment by following all safety and health procedures and modeling those behaviors.
Actively participate in support of all safety activities aligned with Safety Excellence.
Perform other duties as assigned by manager or supervisor, including driving vehicles into building and to proper clean car staging area, occasional sale day driving.
Qualifications:
Minimum:
High School Diploma/GED and 3 years' experience in a related field.
OR the right candidate could also have a different combination, such as any level degree/certification beyond a HS diploma/GED in a related discipline.
OR 5 years' experience in a related field
Safe drivers needed; valid driver's license required.
Ability to drive standard and automatic transmission vehicles.
Ability to stoop, bend, kneel, squat, and lean for extended periods.
Preferred:
Basic knowledge of auto detailing, paint application processes, and associated repair procedures (preferred but not required).
Weather Environment:
Occasional exposure to fumes, odors, and weather conditions.

Long Description The Assembly Controls Technician will provide support, leadership and direction to the Maintenance Technicians and perform Controls function for the Assembly Department. The Assembly Controls Technician will support and carry out the assignments and responsibilities given them by the Controls & Robotics Engineering Manager or his/her designees, and you shall devote your full time, skill and attention to the business of the Company.
Key Responsibilities
* Work with minimal supervision and work well in a team.
* Support Manufacturing Engineering in the development of standards and specifications, including a complete purchase parts list related to controls systems.
* Plan and implement improvements within the Assembly Department related to the specific controls systems.
* Provide technical support to Assembly and Laser departments for resolving controls related issues.
* Support the Assembly and Laser Technical Training and Development program by conducting training classes, providing technical documentation, etc.
* Identify training needs for Maintenance Technicians. Provide requirements to Maintenance supervisors and training department.
* Provide leadership and direction during equipment downtime situations. Controls Team leaders must be able to make good judgment decisions on technical matters and interface effectively with production supervision.
* Make necessary adjustments to parts and machinery to ensure proper production run.
* Robotics troubleshooting on robots.
* Electrical circuit troubleshooting.
* Pneumatic troubleshooting.
* Hydraulic troubleshooting.
* Supervise the assembly and installation as well as assemble and install new equipment and can make modifications to existing equipment as requested.
* Responsible for training new Maintenance Technicians in equipment and safety as assigned.
* Set up preventative maintenance procedures on mechanical equipment for the Assembly Department as laid out by the manufacturer's specifications.
* Maintain maintenance Quality standards and preventative/ predictive maintenance program for the Assembly Department to ensure compliance with QS9000 Requirements.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Education
* BS: Electrical Engineering, Industrial Technology, or other technical discipline plus 3 years of automated manufacturing technical experience required.
* AS: Electronics Technology plus 5 years of automated manufacturing technical experience required.
* 7+ years experience and training in a similar role and environment.
Key Qualifications/Requirements
* High skill set with PC and communication skills.
* Strong proficiency with PLC (Siemens, Allen Bradley), Pilz Safety PLC's, A-B Servo Drive systems.
* Robotic Systems a plus (Fanuc or ABB).
* Minimum 5 years of experience in robotic-PLC debugging/programming position.

POSITION OVERVIEW

Auto Glass Technicians for Glass America replace broken or pitted windshields and window glass in motor vehicles.
