United Energy Services benefits

You can realistically attend the daily meeting, go back home and flub your end of day numbers for a free paycheck while trying to find something real.

Pros of working at United Energy Services

No micromanaging. Team outings can be fun.

Cons of working at United Energy Services

you go out on your own most of the time (not in twos like many of us were told during the interview. So ladies, keep this mind.) It can be stressful, but in the way most door to door sales jobs are. You do get a $300 base pay (roughly $7 per hour), but that gets axed after the first month if you're not closing at least three accounts a week. The base pay essentially takes care of all the gas you'll be using, which isn't reimbursed. Good luck if your car craps out or you get sick because there's no option for remote or in-office work. The daily meetings are required but useless, as more time is spent going over acronyms than actual information about what you're doing. Business trips are not required but strongly encouraged, and that will drain your bank account even more. (Btw if you quit you won't get your last two paychecks.) The turnover rate is insanely high, as they'll hire anyone and have newbies in every week (which makes sense considering most quit after the first few days.) I've seen a lot of people come and go, usually because they're actively losing lots of money despite working 40+ hours. Outside of the pay and twisted interview explanations, the company itself was a bit shady when I was repeatedly encouraged to lie to get a contract as long as I did nothing blatantly illegal. There are a few consistent people there (typically the ones who lie to customers) who make a decent amount, but if you need consistent and reliable income then this isn't it. I was told this was an office job, that'd I'd be reimbursed for gas, etc. All lies. The interview process is about as scummy as the actual job. Let's not forget the weekly "challenges", where if you do not beat another member of the team you have to do something embarrassing in front of the whole office. The whole place operates like a typical MLM cult with people being overhyped when you first arrive, but quickly changing tune if you're not successful. A quick mention about the boss: he's allowed incredibly poor treatment towards the females of the office and talks horribly about his employees in the meetings with the lead account managers. Also, there's the possibility for you to actually go IN-DEBT with this company if you mess up an account. All in all, you can find similar jobs to this one with a base pay at least matching minimum wage and more honest practices, so it's probably best to look elsewhere.

What do you like best about United Energy Services's CEO and the leadership team?

Genuinely can't say. I was lied to in the interview, and any excitement/kindness towards me was rehearsed and meant to keep newbies around until they're not useful. One of the leaders was actually accused of S*xual Harassment by a few and nothing was done.

How would you improve United Energy Services's culture?

Behave like an actual business and go through s*xual Harassment training

How did you prepare for the United Energy Services interview?

Learned about the company via site, but the interview is more of a formality than anything used to decide on hiring.

How does your compensation at United Energy Services compare to the industry average?

Horrible. Essentially $7/hr or less if you work over 40hrs. It's base pay, but that stops if you can't get at least three accounts a week, though you won't be fired. You'll just be working for free. Not to mention, no gas/mileage compensation even if you travel on business trips.

What's the diversity at United Energy Services like?

Enough racial diversity, though it's heavily male-dominated.

What brings you the most joy at United Energy Services?

I did enjoy being able to travel, but that was squashed once I realized I had been lied to about many things.
