We are currently Looking for NYS Certified HHAs to work full-time in the communities of Orange County; will drive to the patient homes to provide care. The rate for this position is $22/hr. This is a fulltime position and is benefits eligible. We offer: medical, dental and vision insurance, paid time off (vacation, personal days, sick days). We also have a 401(k) retirement plan with profit sharing, basic life insurance, an EAP program and other extra perks. Qualifications: Certified as a NYS home health aide; must maintain certification by annually completing 12 hours of approved continuing education Working knowledge of basic first aid Basic understanding and commitment to the hospice philosophy of care Ability to work as a team member and use supervision effectively Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality concerning patient and family information Ability to relate to a diverse population and workforce in a personable and effective manner Ability to understand verbal and written directions Ability to communicate effectively verbally with patients, families and staff; able to write and document as needed Must be proficient using a computer and email; proficiency documenting in EMR systems and with MS Office; will require data entry into the EMR system Must have valid driver's license with insurance and access to automobile to drive to patient homes Physical Requirements: Physical agility/repetitive occurrence including/not limited to: walking, running, bending, stooping, climbing stairs, kneeling, crouching, reaching, sitting and twisting Lifting greater than 50lbs repeatedly throughout the work day Responsibilities of HHA will include, though not be limited to: Follows Plan of Care established by hospice nurse Actively participates in coordination of all aspects of patient's care, in accordance with current professional standards and practice Performs health care procedures monitored by hospice nurse (example: reinforce clean dressings, use of bed pan, check urinary catheter, etc.) Provides for the physical care of the patient, as stated in the HHA care plan, (example: bathing, toileting, skin care, etc.) Assists the patient with ambulation, transfers and turning and positioning as needed; turns and positions patients who are unable to assist Under the guidance and instruction on primary nurse, P.T, O.T., maintains a safe environment for patients and proper use of equipment (i.e. wheelchair, Hoyer lift) Helps patient in performing exercises prescribed by appropriate professional personnel May plan and prepare meals for patient, feeds patient when necessary Performs a variety of light housekeeping tasks when necessary which are essential to the patients' health care Performs washing of patients' clothes as needed Attends team meetings as needed Attends twelve (12) hours of documented training annually that may come from any acceptable source Incorporates organization's commitment to customer service and continuous quality improvement into daily work habits. Responsibilities may include: -Assist veterinarians in surgical procedures, including pre-operative preparation, anesthesia administration, monitoring, and post-operative care. -Ensure all surgical instruments and equipment are properly sterilized and maintained. -Provide exceptional care and monitoring of patients before, during, and after surgery. -Collaborate with veterinary team to maintain high standards of care. -Educate clients on surgical procedures, post-operative care, and follow-up visits. -Maintain accurate medical records and documentation. -Perform imagining including but not limited to x-ray and ultrasound. -Sample collection and processing, including phlebotomy -Maintain and operate lab equipment and diagnostic machines. -Dispense medication including controlled substances. -Administer vaccines. -Dental procedures including scaling, polishing, dental digital x-rays and anesthesia. Available Shifts: - Full-time and part-time opportunities available -Office Hours: Monday-Friday 8am-7pm with the possibility of Saturdays Compensation and Benefits: We offer competitive compensation based on your skills and experience. The base hourly range for this position is $19 - $23. Our pay ranges are primarily determined by role, level, and location. The range provided for each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for the position. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
