Tulchinsky joined UNOS in 2014 as Chief Technology Officer. In this position, Tulchinsky oversees development and maintenance of the technology platforms that match donated organs with patients nationwide; collects key clinical information on organ donors, transplant candidates and transplant recipients; and facilitates communication of real-time information and data needed to facilitate medical decision-making. Tulchinsky has more than 25 years of technology leadership and executive experience with industry-leading organizations in financial services, telecommunications and web-based information services. Most recently he was Senior Vice President of Infrastructure and Operations at Neustar, Inc., an information services and analytics provider based in Sterling, Va. His prior experience includes technology executive roles at SunRocket, Inc. and AOL (formerly America Online, Inc.).He holds a bachelor of arts degree in computer and information services from Temple University.

David Klassen joined UNOS in 2014 as Chief Medical Officer. In this role, Dr. Klassen offers an experienced clinical perspective to our policymaking and patient safety efforts. He will report to the Chief Executive Officer and assist him in developing, planning and implementing UNOS’ strategic direction. Dr. Klassen was the Medical Director of the Kidney and Pancreas Transplant Programs at the University of Maryland Hospital, where he was as a faculty member since 1986. He has a long history of volunteer leadership with UNOS and many professional societies such as the American Society of Transplantation and the American Society of Nephrology. Dr. Klassen served a term on the OPTN/UNOS Board of Directors and as a member of the OPTN/UNOS Kidney Transplantation and Membership and Professional Standards committees.Dr. Klassen earned his medical degree from the Ohio State University in Columbus and completed his internal medicine and nephrology training at the Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland.

As Chief Contract Operations Officer, Maureen McBride oversees projects and deliverables related to UNOS’ contract to operate the Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network (OPTN). Prior to serving as Chief Contract Operations Officer, McBride served as Director of Research from 2006 to 2014, providing expertise in research, analysis, and performance measurement conducted by the UNOS staff using the national OPTN database and internal corporate data systems. She also provided advice and expertise to staff in regards to research studies undertaken in collaboration with transplantation professionals across the country and assisted UNOS staff with the development of research proposals and projects, grant proposals, and research publications. McBride joined UNOS in 1995 as a senior biostatistician and served as a senior biostatistician/team leader for the UNOS Research Department for seven years, supervising a team of SAS analysts and administrative staff. As a biostatistician, McBride performed numerous independent and collaborative research studies in statistics and transplantation for publications and presentations at scientific meetings. She has contributed to studies in more than 50 manuscripts and publications. McBride received her bachelor’s of science in mathematics from Loyola College in Maryland and a Ph.D. in biostatistics from Virginia Commonwealth University, Medical College of Virginia.

Ryan Ehrensberger joined UNOS in 2014 as Director of Research. In this position, Ehrensberger provides executive level administration and leadership to his department, which develops programming and analysis of data that pertains to the patient waiting list, organ donation and matching, and transplantation. Before joining UNOS, Ehrensberger was a consultant at Hammes Company, where he provided strategic planning and advisory consulting services to hospitals and health care systems throughout the country. He also previously worked as Administrative Director for Business Development at Bon Secours Virginia Health System.Ehrensberger acquired his Bachelors of Science at Bowling Green State University, a Masters of Public Health from the University of Tennessee and his Ph. D. in Research and Evaluation Methodology from Virginia Commonwealth University.

Stephen Harms joined UNOS in 2014 as Chief Operating Officer. As Chief Operating Officer, Harms oversees key projects that promote UNOS’ strategic plan. He will also assist in developing, planning and implementing strategic objectives to drive successful growth.Harms served nearly 30 years in legislative and executive capacities for the Commonwealth of Virginia. He served in cabinet-level positions for Virginia Governors Mark Warner and Tim Kaine, in roles including Deputy Chief of Staff, Deputy Secretary of Finance and Deputy Secretary of Health and Human Resources. He was also a legislative fiscal analyst for the Senate Finance Committee of the Virginia General Assembly. Most recently he was Interim Deputy Chief Administrative Officer for Human Services with the City of Richmond, Va.He holds a bachelor of science degree in psychology from Valparaiso University and a master of social work degree from Virginia Commonwealth University.
