What you'll be doing : * Keep the Asset Protection Manager informed of all potential workplace security and safety issues. * Maintain order and control of the front desk, lobby areas and switchboard. * Prevent internal theft by conducting scanning and bag checking of all employees and visitors exiting the facility. * Monitor entrance and front lobby to ensure all visitors are authorized, logged in and escorted. * Monitor entire property via CCTV system, fire, and burglar alarm systems to respond to incidents as needed across multiple fulfillment centers and delivery operations buildings. * Audit physical security platforms (intrusion, access control & CCTV) across multiple buildings to ensure functionality of all systems. * Analyze data & conduct video audits relating to Shrink & Cargo Loss across multiple buildings to mitigate risk. * Monitor parking lot areas to report unauthorized visitors/vehicles or unlawful activity to leadership. * Notify emergency personnel (police/fire) in the event of emergencies as appropriate. * Assist and support leadership team with safety, emergency crisis and evacuation drills and real events as needed. * Ensure regulatory compliance measures are being adhered to with associates and vendors that are entering the facility. * Manage and maintain safety training and regulatory compliance training documents. * Administer new hire safety training and annual refresher safety training. * Monitor all inbound and outbound trailer activity in the trailer yard. Position Summary: The security officer is responsible for the overall security and safety of the visitors, staff, collections, and visitors of the Norton Museum of Art and its campus, which includes the garden, Cranesnest Way houses and parking lot. This includes providing excellent customer service to our visitors, staff, and contractors in a friendly, respectful manner, observing and reporting any irregularities. Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Safeguard the museum's artwork in and outside the museum galleries. Safeguard the physical plant and assets using effective security patrols. Understand all museum procedures and assist contractors, visitors, and staff. Conduct yourself in a welcoming, pleasant manner when greeting or speaking with Museum visitors. Work closely with the Visitor Experience staff when encountering a problem in the Museum galleries or public spaces. Officer must be able to follow directions and react quickly during emergency situations. Provide timely and accurate information to the security Supervisor on unusual conditions or situations. Speak clearly over a two-way radio and be understood by other members of the staff. Officer must be able to work effectively and courteously with diverse groups of visitors and staff. This position is part time with varied hours between 5:00am and 10:00pm Monday-Friday with weekend availability for business needs 3-8 hours shifts or 2-10 hours shifts for a minimum of 20 hours a week Candidate will work at our locations Downtown OKC, North OKC and Edmond We are seeking a part time Armed Security Officer who is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for our employees and the protection of our property by patrolling the premises and actively monitoring personnel. The Armed Security Officer is also responsible for guarding against theft and adheres strict security protocols to prevent the unauthorized removal of property. The Armed Security Officer must be of High-Integrity and Ethical Behavior, as we are entrusted with the duty of protecting people and hi-value property. You must be able to maintain confidentiality, protect privacy, and conform to professional codes of conduct as you can be exposed to sensitive matters and information. The day in the life of an Armed Security Officer... Monitor, screen and authorizes the entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other people in multiple locations Guard against theft of company property while maintaining security of premises Prevent losses and damages by reporting irregularities, instruct violators of policy and procedures Calls police, fire or EMS in cases of emergency; as needed as appropriate for emergencies (ex: trespasser, fire or injured person) Answers alarms and investigate disturbances or events Patrols and monitors the premises to prevent and detect signs of unauthorized intrusion, theft or damage to or of company property Operate detection devices, such as metal detectors and X ray machines to screen individuals and property to prevent the passage of prohibited articles into and out of restricted areas Always follow company and security policies and procedures Adhere to company attendance policy and maintain adequate attendance per department standards Must conduct themselves in a professional manner, friendly, positive and supportive manner at all times Performs other security related duties as assigned Other Qualities of an Armed Security Officer: Decision Making/Judgment: Promptly recognize problems and react with appropriate response in accordance with laws, regulations and company policies Systematically gather all information for assessment to identify root causes Sort through complex issues, seeks input from others for evaluation Ability to make difficult decisions based upon factual consensus, and articulate decision made to management and others. Qualifications Education: High School diploma Experience: 5+ years' experience in law enforcement, military experience or certified armed security experience with ACTIVE CLEET license Detailed observation skills and quick response in making corrective action within protocols. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Strong comprehensive report writing and analytical skills. Fluctuating schedule readiness, as needed. Certificates & Licenses: Active or retired state certified Peace Officer status Must possess valid C.L.E.E.T. Armed Security License at time of application.
