DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this position, you will engage in a year-long training program designed to equip you with the skills necessary to fulfill the responsibilities of an Environmental Engineering Specialist. Your role will involve a range of tasks within a designated area of the Commonwealth, focusing on the regulation of facilities to ensure adherence to the Commonwealth's rules, regulations, permits, and environmental laws.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
* Full-time employment
* Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
* Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days a week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
* One year of experience in environmental engineering, and possession of a valid Engineer-in-Training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists; or
* A bachelor's degree in environmental engineering, or in any engineering field that includes or is supplemented by 9 credits in environmental engineering.
Condition of Employment:

Implements repair/replace/rehabilitation strategies consistent with the industry's best asset management principles.
Coordinates operation and maintenance projects with utilities, residents, and municipalities
Measure Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for their group in order to increase efficiencies and productivity
Ensure quality work through Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) Plans for the specific work being conducted
Ensure that site safety procedures and practices are enforced.
Review building permit applications, subdivision plans, service applications, and other related applications for compliance with appropriate regulations.
Assist those contacted in the course of duty in an effective, efficient, and professional manner.

Required Education and Experience
Eight years of technician experience performing any combination of the following technical tasks generating technical reports; reviewing or revising plans and drawings; collecting engineering data; analyzing engineering data; or troubleshooting facility performance issues.
Or
Six years of technician experience performing any combination of the following technical tasks generating technical reports; reviewing or revising plans and drawings; collecting engineering data; analyzing engineering data; or troubleshooting facility performance issues with an associate degree or equivalent (60 college semester hours total), from an accredit college or university, including 15 semester hours in major coursework in engineering, engineering technology, engineering computer applications, mathematics, or computer aided drafting or closely related fields.

MILITARY EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE EVALUATION

- Bachelors degree in engineering, engineering technology, engineering physics, biosystems engineering, mathematical science, physical science or related science plus one or more years of post-Bachelors engineering experience relating to the area of engineering specialization required to perform the job.

Performs advanced, complex troubleshooting and repair functions for commercial and residential access and video systems such as programming; cleaning detectors; testing controls and peripheral devices; mounting, replacing, and testing equipment according to specifications; running cable, etc.
Instructs customers in access and video systems operation by recommending ways to use additional features and capabilities of system installations.
Respond to customer questions and requests.
Recommend corrective services to adjust customer complaints.
Diffuses difficult and complex customer issues.
Builds and maintains working relations with the sales staff.
Defines the scope of add-ons and change orders, seeks customer approval, and writes up paperwork.
Performs site visits with sales consultants for existing or potential clients.
Takes responsibility for the project from first walk-through to final sign-off and hand-offs to service.
Maintains accurate records of all inspections/service calls and troubleshooting as required including documentation and updating paperwork.
Acts as onsite project lead to meet project timelines and goals and oversees lead technicians, technicians, apprentices, and subcontractors.

This paid, full-time internship offers hands-on experience supporting environmental compliance, regulatory permitting, and site investigation and remediation projects.
Interns work alongside experienced consultants and gain exposure to both the technical and regulatory aspects of environmental consulting, building practical skills that support long-term career development in the industry.
This is a full-time, non-benefited internship position intended for students currently pursuing degrees in engineering, geology, environmental science, or related fields.
What You'll Do:
Office Support:
Manage and evaluate field and laboratory data.
Perform quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) reviews of client deliverables.
Participate in technical training sessions.
Prepare deliverables for permitting packages and site investigation, monitoring, and remediation reports.
Field Experience (as opportunities arise):
Assist with groundwater and soil sampling events.
Support subcontractor oversight and remedial system operations and maintenance.
Shadow compliance inspections and assessments.
Qualifications:
