Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:
The Department of Statistics invites candidates to apply for a term faculty position at the rank of Assistant Teaching Professor. Responsibilities include teaching statistics courses to graduate students in our online Master of Applied Statistics (MAS) degree program, as well as teaching both in person and online undergraduate statistics courses and courses for graduate students majoring in fields other than statistics. The position also includes revising or developing online courses. The successful candidate will have excellent teaching and communication skills and provide effective and welcoming learning experiences for all students.
The position involves a 9-month appointment with an initial length of 3 years, starting August 16, 2026. Renewal for additional 3-year contracts is contingent on performance and department need. Opportunities for teaching online summer courses for additional pay are likely.
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without sponsorship. Immigration sponsorship is not available for this position.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
MS in statistics or a closely related field by the time of appointment
Teaching experience at the college or university level
Preferred Qualifications:
PhD in statistics or a closely related field by the time of appointment

In this vital role, you'll partner with program staff to manage and ensure the quality of assessment data, develop and maintain datasets and analytical tools, and translate data into meaningful insights that support student learning and program effectiveness.
What you'll do:
Data Management
· 10% - Serve as a central point of contact for program-level data domain management for assessment data and learning analytics (e.g., ExamSoft, D2L, CAE Learning Space, CoursEval).
· 20% - Develop and implement best practices for data management and governance, including maintenance of a COM data codebook, standardization of data definitions, and quality-control protocols across assessment systems.
· 10% - Partner with campus offices such as ITS, Registrar, and Clinical Affairs to define requirements for data origination, workflow design, and maintenance of accurate, complete, and well-documented data assets.
· 10% - Design quality improvement and operational processes for data extraction, data validation, data cleaning, data harmonization, business logic, and exception handling.
· 10% - Deliver education and training on data domain concepts, standards, guidelines, and processes.
Data Analysis
· 10% - Collect, code and manage assessment data to support program processes by defining data attributes, relationships among data elements, and rules for manipulating data.
· 10% - Analyze and interpret assessment data to identify longitudinal trends and cross-sectional patterns as related to student learning, program outcomes, and/or program data management processes using appropriate analytic tools (e.g., Python, PowerBI, etc.).
· 10% - Review assessment data projects for accuracy and completeness according to program, institution, and accreditation guidelines.
· 10% - Create data visualizations and draft data reports for distribution to key stakeholders.
What we are looking for:
· Master's degree with a minimum of three year's experience working as an assessment data analyst, or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired.
· Two to three years (or more) experience working in an education environment or working in a similar capacity with competency-based data highly preferred. Higher education experience preferred.
· Proficiency in data management including data governance, data quality, metadata and master data management.
· Excellent data collection/entry, data reconciliation, data analysis and data reporting skills.
· Experience with database development and statistical software use; two to three years experience working with data visualization software (e.g., PowerBI, Tableau, Mural) and data coding language (e.g., SQL, Python).

The Department of Economics seeks to hire a tenure-track advanced Assistant or tenured Associate Professor in Agricultural Economics. This position is one of six positions in a cluster hire that will have research and teaching responsibilities, along with affiliations with the Center for Agricultural and Rural Development (CARD) and the Iowa State Extension farm management team. The approximate division of responsibilities for this position is 62% extension, 25% research, 8% teaching, and 5% service. The home college for the position is the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
The individual in this position is expected to develop a nationally recognized extension and research program in the economics of cooperatives and agricultural supply chains and will hold the Iowa Institute for Cooperatives Endowed Economics Professorship. The extension program will be expected to address critical agricultural issues relevant to the cooperative system at the state, regional, and national level, including the development of leadership, strategic planning, and financial competency skills in cooperative and agribusiness leaders. The individual will maintain one or more active projects under the auspices of the Iowa Agriculture and Home Economics Experiment Station.
The successful candidate will be expected to collaborate across departments, extension units, and university centers. The research and teaching activities are envisioned to be synergistic with the extension activities. A natural outcome of these activities will be applied extension materials targeting producers, agribusiness professionals, and other relevant groups; original research in agricultural economics leading to publications in appropriate refereed journals and other professional outlets; and presentations at professional conferences. The successful candidate will be expected to generate extramural funds to support extension and research activities. Opportunities will exist to direct graduate student research and serve on graduate academic plan committees. The candidate will also possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. The teaching assignment is expected to be approximately one course per year on average.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
* Ph.D. in Economics, Agricultural Economics or related field

2. The position includes other unusual aspect such as extended time, risk injury factor and due process predicaments.
3. It is the express intent of this job description to give sufficient guidance to function. In cases not specifically covered, it shall be assumed that a coach shall exercise common sense and good judgment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Has a thorough knowledge of all the athletic policies approved by the West Burlington Independent Schools' Board of Education and is responsible for their implementation by the entire staff of the
sports program.
2. Has knowledge of existing system, state and league regulations; implements same consistently.
