The Sourcing Advisor serves as a liaison between Category Managers, internal business teams, and suppliers throughout the sourcing process. This role requires a strong background in sourcing, procurement, category management, or finance. The Sourcing Advisor will support and guide sourcing activities, ensuring alignment with business requirements while optimizing cost, quality, and risk outcomes. The position involves working with diverse cross-functional stakeholders in a dynamic environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Communicate updates to stakeholders on ongoing sourcing initiatives and supplier interactions.
Participate in or facilitate proposal analysis with cross-functional teams.
Partner with Contract Analysts to draft and revise supplier agreements.
Support contract negotiations to achieve cost, quality, and risk objectives.
Assist in developing and executing RFPs with input from relevant business areas.
Collaborate effectively with project teams, business owners, and supplier representatives.
Promote awareness of supplier expectations and foster strong relationships.
Support supplier visits and assist relationship owners with presentations, data analysis, and organization.
Contribute to the phased rollout of category management, partnering with Category Managers to meet business objectives.
Document and operationalize savings initiatives, including analysis and contracting for procurement targets.
Ensure sourcing standards are followed through education and process compliance.
Identify potential backup and alternate suppliers using industry resources.
Manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
Analyze spend and supplier data to support sourcing decisions using techniques such as TCO, make/buy, ROI, and risk assessment.
Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and customers.
Demonstrate autonomy in decision-making with limited information.
Exhibit strong analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
Communicate complex issues clearly across functions and levels.
Mandatory Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in supply chain, finance, or a related field.
Minimum 3 years of experience in sourcing, procurement, supply chain, IT, finance, or operations.
Proven experience in supplier negotiation and contract management, including risk mitigation.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Ability to perform essential duties with or without accommodation.

Preferred Qualifications
2+ years of experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP).

Organizational Function and Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for instruction in English as a Second Language (ESL) at the college level. This includes developing a relevant and progressive curriculum, designing and implementing effective learning strategies and environments, delivering instruction of high quality, assessing student learning, advising students, and participating in college service activities at the department, division and college levels.
This position reports to the Associate Dean - School of Academic Advancement.
Essential Duties:

1. Responsible for instruction in the English as a Second Language program. Provide instruction to limited English speaking students.
2. Develop appropriate instructional strategies and materials for use with second language learners.

Organizational Function and Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for instruction in the Computer and/or Data Sciences courses at the University Transfer level. This includes developing a relevant and progressive curriculum, designing and implementing effective learning strategies and environments, delivering instruction of high quality, assessing student learning, advising students, and participating in college service activities at the department, division and college levels.
This position reports to the Associate Dean - School of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics.

1. Responsible for facilitating student learning in the Computer and Data Science Department, including but not limited to the following courses: Computer Science 1, Computer Science 2, Introduction to Programming in Python, Data Structures and Algorithms.
2. Develop and plan appropriate instructional strategies and alternative delivery strategies when appropriate including but not limited to hybrid, face-to-face and on-line course delivery.

The successful candidate will teach courses in the Industrial and Systems Engineering program utilizing effective and inclusive pedagogy.
Special consideration will be given to candidates with the ability to teach System Simulation, Engineering Systems Design, Industrial Engineering Computer Applications, Manufacturing Systems Design.
A willingness to develop and teach courses in Smart Manufacturing Systems including robotics, automation, digital twin, augmented and virtual reality (AR/VR), and Industry 4.0/5.0 technologies will be an advantage.
Candidates must be willing to assume other responsibilities for the industrial and systems engineering program, including developing curriculum; academic assessment; undergraduate research and scholarly activities; advising students and/or student organizations; participating in K-12 outreach; and serving in department, college, and university committees.
Faculty members are expected to work with colleagues in the department and across campus. Additionally, ISE faculty have the opportunity to teach graduate level courses as part of the online MS Engineering program.

Baccalaureate degree in any engineering discipline or a closely related field.

About Mechanical and Industrial Engineering at University of Wisconsin-Platteville
The Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering is the largest department at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville serving over 1100 degree seeking students. The department offers baccalaureate degrees in both mechanical, and industrial and systems engineering. The industrial and systems engineering program has three tenured/tenure-track faculty and one instructional academic staff. It serves about 80 students both on-campus and through the online asynchronous Platteville Engineering Partnership (PEP) program. The majority of students are based at the UW-Platteville campus, while additional students pursue their studies online from various locations.
The Mechanical and Industrial Engineering department is dedicated to hands-on, experiential engineering education focused on interdisciplinary coursework and cross-disciplinary collaborations outside the classroom. The College of Engineering, Mathematics, and Science (EMS) enrolls approximately 2,500 students in ABET-accredited BS degree programs in Civil, Electrical, Environmental, Industrial Systems, Mechanical, Software Engineering, and Engineering Physics , as well as BS degrees in Mathematics, Data Science, Chemistry, Computer Science, and Sustainable and Renewable Energy Systems.
