Pros of working at Franz Bakery

I used to be there from 2005 to 2014, I worked 80 hour weeks for 10 years I was able to bring home a $2500 check every week. I left in 2014 and came back in 2022 and because of the Democratic state and the Democratic laws cannot work excessive overtime no more than 12 hours a day. Can’t work excessive overtime to be able to support your family. Franz Bakery does not want to pay their employees a cost-of-living wage. The new CEO has shown that she does not care about her employees. $1100 check a week does not pay the bills.

Cons of working at Franz Bakery

If you work at Franz Bakery make no plans to see your family. The low pay is a very big struggle and right now we are out of contract fighting for more money and they don’t wanna pay out. Even though they have a very high revenue after everything is paid they could give everybody a $10 raise but they were refusing to. They screwed everybody over during Covid and And They have been behind on wages for decades keep promising higher wages and they never do it on the next contract

Franz Bakery benefits

benefits are Blue Cross Blue Shield paid at 90% and also Kaiser. They have fired a lot of people in the last year and also a lot of people have quit because of the wages and everybody has been struggling.

What do you like best about Franz Bakery's CEO and the leadership team?

we never see the CEO we never see Kim she never walked through the bakery. The management team we had before we always saw the management team and they would even come in at two or 3 o’clock in the morning and talk with their graveyard people. Nowadays you don’t see that.

How would you improve Franz Bakery's culture?

they should improve their culture by listening to their employees and taking care of their employees. If other CEOs and other companies can help their employees out and give them a raise or give up their bonuses to help their employees that’s what the CEO and the management team needs to do with friends they need to do some sacrificing to show they actually care about their employees.

How did you prepare for the Franz Bakery interview?

It’s over the phone interview to set up a time to commit interview in person. That’s the other thing they only do orientation every two weeks instead of doing it every week to find good people.

How does your compensation at Franz Bakery compare to the industry average?

let’s just say I made more as a general manager down in Dallas than what I bring home a week being an employee a machine operator $1100 a week is not paying my bills I have to work two jobs. We do not make over $100,000 a year. And nowadays we should be taking home $2500 a week to be able to pay our bills put money away for emergencies and the inflation wages.

What's the diversity at Franz Bakery like?

their diverse program it’s all political. I have been told I would never be a supervisor or a foreman because I’m too old. And they’ve told somebody who’s been successful as a general manager that they cannot be anything there at this company. By a supervisor and a plant manager

What brings you the most joy at Franz Bakery?

Franz Bakery is a very hostile work environment nobody is happy with their job.

Pros of working at Franz Bakery

Great people and managers. Only one manager that is terrible. The rest are amazing.

Cons of working at Franz Bakery

The hours are long and grueling. Expected to work 10-15 hours a day with no overtime pay. No vacation or sick pay for the first year. Driving a big truck on no sleep is hard. Having to be to work at 2:30 am and not getting off work until 2:30-3:30 pm. then back at 2:30 am.

Franz Bakery benefits

Low health benefit rates
