JOB DESCRIPTION:

Summary/basic function: We are seeking undergraduate students (7 positions) and one Graduate student position to join our research team working at the intersection of plant and algal biotechnology with a strong focus on advancing the circular bioeconomy. Students will gain hands-on experience with molecular biology, genomics, and the valorization of plant and algal biomaterials. These projects provide a unique opportunity to develop cutting-edge technical skills while contributing to sustainable biotechnological solutions. Work will be conducted in close collaboration with local industry partners, offering valuable exposure to real-world applications and pathways to workforce development. Occasional travel to partner facilities or field sites may be required.
A typical week will involve approximately 5-20 hours of work. All necessary training will be provided, so no prior experience is required; however, you must be enthusiastic about learning and expanding your skill set. Students will be required to present their research findings at a regional or national scientific conference.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Undergraduate students must be registered/enrolled in a minimum of six (6) Fall/Spring units.
• Post-baccalaureate students in a graduate program must be registered in a minimum of four (4) Fall/Spring units.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Students should have a strong background and interest in biology and/or agriculture. Applicants must also demonstrate solid performance in introductory and mid-level science courses.

JOB SUMMARY
The Prospect Development Manager supports the core functions of the Individual and Major Gifts and Corporate Giving teams by conducting prospect research and portfolio management aimed at positioning front-line fundraisers for success in building relationships with donor prospects. The position collects and analyzes data from the donor database, prospect research tools, and other research to inform a data-driven moves management strategy. This position maintains the moves management process documentation and works in collaboration with the Database Analyst to advocate for accurate and consistent data tracking across all fundraising teams. The position provides primary support to relationship managers, development directors, VP's and the Chief Development Officer by identifying prospects, analyzing, and optimizing fundraising portfolios, compiling research for building and/or updating prospect or event briefs, and providing accountability through reporting, data tracking, and managing moves activity.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
Uses CRM and prospect research tools to gather, evaluate, and analyze donor data and behavior to identify and segment prospects for assignment to appropriate stages of the donor pipeline.
Generates prospect lists, donor profiles, event briefs, and other materials based on confirmed data procured through research for use by front-line fundraisers to build custom cultivation strategies.
Provides portfolio management support to front-line fundraisers including tracking relationships and planning proposals in the CRM, updating the moves management guidelines document, and conducting regular portfolio review meetings to analyze and balance portfolio performance.
Tracks and manages portfolio activity and conducts supporting donor research for the purposes of partnering with portfolio managers to create customized and effective cultivation/solicitation strategies for donors.
Builds dashboards, queries, and reports using CRM and Excel to analyze solicitor activity, portfolio performance, pipeline progress, and donor behavior trends for use by front-line fundraisers in the creation of fundraising strategies
Utilize shared systems like Monday.com, SharePoint, and others to maintain collaboration and transparent information with teams and departments in alignment with departmental standards and procedures.
Manages the analytics data related to donor behavior through reporting and project management to support all fundraising strategies.
Conducts regular wealth screenings of recent donors to identify new major gift prospects
Proposes and coordinates prospect assignments to portfolios.
Updates information in CRM on prospects discovered through research, staff solicitors, and other UWSA staff to ensure data integrity and usefulness to fundraising staff.
Manage prospect research tool use and subscription.
Analyzes and interprets local and national news and other publications to communicate their potential effect on current donors and prospects.
Stays current with trends in philanthropy and technical developments that apply to prospect research and management.

Requirements
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree - required / master's degree - preferred in Business, Health & Human Services, Public Policy or other related field of study.
Minimum of 2 years related work experience in conducting prospect research and/or general fundraising activities for nonprofit development purposes.

About The University Corporation

Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead research using eDNA technology to investigate the biodiversity of marine coastal ecosystems with and without the presence of nearby low-trophic aquaculture farms, and microbial diversity associated with biogeochemical cycling of nutrients. The postdoctoral scientist will coordinate and execute the collection of sediment and seawater samples using SCUBA when necessary from aquaculture sites and paired reference sites lacking aquaculture farms. The postdoc will also lead the processing of samples in the laboratory to amplify and sequence DNA fragments, their analysis, and lead the writing of manuscripts for publishing results in peer-reviewed journals. The successful candidate will work closely with the PIs, graduate and undergraduate students (serving as an additional mentor to student trainees), and interdisciplinary collaborators in the social sciences. The postdoc should show potential for leadership in the field of organismal interactions, ecology, and/or evolution with the corresponding contemporary field and laboratory research skills.
Minimum Qualifications:
PhD or equivalent in Biology, Environmental Biology, Ecology, Marine Sciences, or related field required at time of appointment.
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Expertise working with eDNA sample collection, processing, sequencing, and analysis.
AAUS-certified SCUBA diver and the ability to operate small boats
Knowledge, Specialized Skills, and Abilities:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
Strong analytical skills with experience using R, Python or similar language

Our laboratory is part of the Judy & Bernard Briskin Center for Multiple Myeloma Research. We collaborate closely with clinicians who treat patients and run clinical trials at the City of Hope National Medical Center in Duarte, as well as other City of Hope centers in Orange County, Chicago, Phoenix, and Atlanta, reinforcing our translational focus and ensuring access to primary samples from a diverse, nation-wide pool of patients. The Academy's Margaret Herrick Library is seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented intern to support the Reference and Public Services team. This internship provides hands-on experience in reference and research services while learning about the library's databases and collections.
The intern will assist Reference Librarians with fielding external research and appointment inquiries, as well as support the creation and cleanup of LibGuides.
This opportunity is open to students enrolled in graduate-level library and information studies programs with a focus on librarianship or archiving, with a strong interest or undergraduate degree in film studies.
This is a limited-term internship position beginning in June 2026 through August 2026.
Essential Functions of the Job:
Assist with external reference queries via email, phone, and in person at the Library's reference desk.
Assist with creating and editing Reference Department LibGuides for internal staff use.
Assist with filing and refiling Research and Duplication Services orders.
Participate in project-based work aligned with the intern's own interests and the needs of the department, as available.
Required Competencies:
Currently enrolled in an ALA-accredited Master's degree program in library and information science or moving image studies.
A minimum of 3.0 GPA.
Knowledge of and interest in the film industry and film history, with a broad awareness of independent features, foreign language cinema, and current releases.
Familiarity with library systems, content management systems, and digital asset management systems.
Skills and Abilities:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to set priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently and collaboratively.
Demonstrates attention to detail, self-motivation, and effective problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
A bachelor's degree in film studies, history, art history, or a related field is preferred.
Coursework or experience in advanced searching tools, digital preservation, and metadata schemas preferred.

The Institutional Effectiveness & Research office serves the University as the principal source of analysis and reporting on a broad array of institutional topics to fulfill Cal State East Bay's commitment to student success. In collaboration with staff at the Office of Institutional Effectiveness & Research, the incumbent has responsibility for data quality assurance, addressing data requests, complex analysis and research of institutional and survey data, and reporting. The Research Associate will interpret, monitor, and analyze data regarding policies, procedures, demographics, and operational outcomes yielding actionable information to guide decisions in wide-ranging areas. The Research Associate collaborates closely with colleagues across the university to analyze and determine meaning behind the data and meets the needs of campus stakeholders. Responsibilities

Required Qualifications
