The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in project controls, with expertise in cost management, scheduling, risk analysis, and performance reporting. The Project Controls Specialist will play a key role in monitoring, analyzing, and optimizing project performance to ensure successful project delivery. RESPONSIBILITIES: Oversee and manage the administrative aspects of integrated engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) cost control programs, including data entry, record maintenance, and ensuring compliance with established procedures and guidelines. Assist in the Development of Work Breakdown and Project Coding Structures for control and integrity of work defined by the Project Team. Assist &/or provide cost related guidance to Project Teams during the Project Development Process. Facilitate the analysis of cost performance variances against the project plan and effectively communicate the reasons for these variances along with proposed mitigation strategies to Project Management. Evaluate cost reserves and contingencies to provide feedback and guidance to Project Teams, ensuring alignment with the overall capital project portfolio. Possess an understanding of Earned Value Management (EVM), Project Productivity metrics and Estimate at Completion calculations. Capable of analyzing EVM data, evaluating productivity, and forecasting costs and timelines to ensure project alignment with objectives. Conduct research and analysis of preliminary cost estimates utilizing historical data and industry benchmarks. Assist in the management of project change notifications and assess their potential impact on the overall forecast. Input, maintain, and verify project data and financials within the Oracle system. Monitor project performance metrics, KPIs, and key deliverables to track progress and identify areas for improvement. Prepare regular progress reports, dashboards, and performance metrics for project stakeholders and management. REQUIRED: Preferred four (4) year degree or relevant project experience in Project Management, Business, Accounting, or Finance. Minimum of 5 years of experience in project controls, cost management, scheduling, and performance reporting within the industrial engineering and/or construction industries. Proficient in using Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Oracle. Excellent communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills to facilitate project progress and decision-making. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to interpret and communicate complex project data. Ability to interface with external stakeholders including but not limited to engineering firms, equipment vendors, and construction contractors. Ability to multitask in a multi-faceted work environment with diverse types of responsibilities. Willingness to travel to US Steel facilities on a regular basis.

Summary of Responsibilities Receive verbal or written instructions covering the scheduled and emergency repair, installation and inspection work to be done. Analyze all types of circuits and wiring diagrams to modify service, install or repair all types of electronic devices and systems, various mill electrical equipment, electronic computing and control systems, power and distribution control equipment, measuring, recording, processing and control devices, indicating devices, instrument and gauges. Fabricate parts as required using machine and hand tools common to the trade. Burn, braze, solder and perform simple layout, fabrication and welding in the servicing of electrical and electronic equipment, including related piping and mechanical components. Make repairs or adjustments to equipment such as main motor drives, generators, controls panels, delays, controllers, switchboards, circuit breakers, lighting circuits, resistors, etc. Install and repair conduit, splice and insulate wires and cables, make splices on hot lines, isolate circuits for repairs.
