Objective of the Job: This is an industrial maintenance position responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting a wide range of equipment in the Cold Rolling Area of the Big River Steel facility.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1) Ensure Safety, Environmental, Quality requirements and "where applicable" Responsible Steel requirements are followed.
2) Ensure good housekeeping practices are carried out in job areas and grounds.
3) Inspect and examine machinery and equipment to detect and find irregularities and malfunctions.
4) Troubleshoot, perform preventative maintenance, and repair complex mechanical equipment.
5) Install and/or modify mechanical equipment following proper codes, manuals, schematic diagrams, and other specifications.
6) Assist operational personnel as needed for operational tasks that are needed to successfully support production. 7) Ensure proficiency by using precision measuring devices (feeler gauges, dial indicators, caliper…)
8) Assist maintenance teams when needed, in other depts across the mill, when circumstances arise.
9) Work directly with all electrical and operations personnel in a fast-paced environment to help to help develop a safety focused and productive team.
10) Support maintenance teammates to help maintain a positive and efficient work environment focused on safety and reliability.
Qualifications:

13) High School diploma or equivalent.

1) Environment is typical for a steel mill production area, with extreme temperatures, high noise levels, and dusty/greasy areas.

Prior experience in administering appropriate PM program.

Job Description:
The role of the Field Service Technician Level 3 is to travel to customer sites, provide service and resolve technical product issues. The services provided may consist of troubleshooting complex problems with equipment, commissioning, repair, maintenance and training of electric actuators and related equipment.
Accountabilities
Actively support a positive safety culture to reduce injuries and maintain a safe work environment.
Frequent travel both domestically and internationally to support customers.
Provide onsite service for commissioning, repair, teardown, rebuild & troubleshooting of electric actuation equipment and related systems.
Perform upgrades on equipment. Setup and configure using supporting software and hardware.
Provide training and instruction to less experienced technicians.

Complete detailed service reports, expense reports and data entry in data acquisition systems.
Support development of training programs for electric automation and provide basic training to customers, distributors and Flowserve employees.
Support Limitorque factory operations as needed.

Demonstrated proficiency in MODBUS digital communication protocol and associated software and hardware for initializing and upgrading firmware for MX, QX & UEX actuators.
Demonstrated protocol analyzer use and data interpretation. Basic understanding of ModBus function & data breakdown.
Demonstrated ability to conduct training on products and supporting tools within scope of knowledge.
Strong Customer-service focus, with a personal ownership and initiative regarding quality, meeting deadlines, and problem-solving.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

The Field Service Technician installs, commissions, monitors, troubleshoots, and repairs Flowserve's pumps, seals, and other equipment across industries such as oil and gas, chemical, nuclear, coal, and wastewater industries, depending on the customer engagement.
In this challenging position the Field Service Technician (FST) provides real-time technical support to our customers, and provides recommendations for repairs, upgrades, and replacement equipment. Make direct, in-person service calls in response to customer requests.
Assess mechanical problems and take actions to resolve promptly.
Work side-by-side with our customer's personnel, and lead work crews as required.

Ensure that equipment is installed successfully and on schedule.
Check equipment prior to start-up and assess start-up performance.
Monitor the maintenance and performance of Flowserve equipment.

Experience with installing mechanical equipment.
Experience with repairing pump equipment, installing mechanical seals, changing seal faces/gaskets/O rings.
Proven ability to correctly read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and schematics
Must be a self-starter with good follow-through, capable of working independently with little supervision.
Capable in Outlook, Word, and Excel
An active driver's license with a good driving record is essential to the role.
Able to travel, including globally, for extended periods of time
Able to work overtime as required to minimize impact to customers

BASIC PURPOSE

Fabricate random coils.
Install and align formed coils or random coils into slots of stators, rotors or armatures.
Insert copper coils in the stator with appropriate methods.
Make connections (brazing and soldering).
Complete varnish, bake and dip processes.
Assemble, test and complete required paperwork/reports.
Perform surge test, hi-pot megger, DLRO tests.
Troubleshoot various electric motors to determine cause of failure.
