Pros of working at United States Steel

Pay/benefits

Cons of working at United States Steel

Totally inept management and favoritism between managers and subordinates is to the point of total disparity of treatment and if you object, retaliation and punishment is in your future!

United States Steel benefits

As mentioned,pay/benefits. It's the only thing keeping the employees here. No feeling of belonging or job appreciation unless you are one of the many managers sycophants. If you simply come here to do your job and return home, you'll do fine. It's the totally unfair treatment of less skilled workers than yourself that will get to you. Just insulate yourself and ignore your circumstances and you'll be fine. Also, the union and their grievance procedures aren't worth the paper you use in the bathroom. The company is always correct! Just ask the ranking union officials just after they receive their "bonus envelopes" from the company.
