Employees in this position spend part of the workday standing and walking on concrete and similar hard surfaces. They also must walk on uneven ground (such as lawns, fields, and gravel). Many of the essential functions of this job require two-handed work, opening and closing doors, pushing and pulling equipment and objects, leaning forward, backward, and to each side, bending over, kneeling, and crouching. Employees must be able to determine whether surfaces are cleaned to required standards, identify spills and other liquids on floors, parking lots, and other surfaces, detect the presence of (and avoid being struck by) automobiles and other motor vehicles. Employees in this position must work for up to two continuous hours, indoors and outdoors, at all times of year and in all kinds of weather.
