General Statement of Duties: Working under the supervision and guidance of a Respiratory Therapist, the extern will assess, treat and care for patients with pulmonary disease processes or respiratory care orders. Primarily responsible for noninvasive respiratory care modalities, maintaining patient records and operations of respiratory care equipment.
Essential Job Functions:
1. Sets up and operates therapeutic gas administration, aerosol generators, and disposable medical products, following specific parameters for treatment.
2. Provides emergency care, including artificial ventilation, external cardiac message, and assists with cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
3. Evaluates requirements for treatment, such as treatment type, mode and duration of therapy, universal precautions, medication and dosage, in accordance with physician orders.

Medical Assistants perform administrative and clinical duties under the direct supervision of a medical provider - physician, physician assistant or nurse practitioner - in the medical office setting.

No experience? Norton Healthcare offers a full-time, 40 hours a week paid training program. Training consists of a combination of classroom and clinical training. Clinical training will be completed at different locations throughout Louisville and Southern IN.
Upon successful completion of the Medical Assistant Trainee program, you will transition into a full-time Medical Assistant role.

The Medical Laboratory Technician, Intern is a student who works those laboratory departments that he/she has successfully completed a clinical rotation at a SRHS laboratory. The MLT, Intern evaluates specimens for acceptability for proper testing; and performs accurate and appropriate testing of specimens received in the laboratory, according to established laboratory protocol and procedures. He/She verifies accuracy of results before reporting; reports test results in a timely manner and according to established laboratory protocol and procedures.
The Medical Laboratory Technician, Intern performs needed maintenance and calibration on instruments and equipment as appropriate; troubleshoots instruments, equipment, reagents, and patient specimens when problems occur. He/She complies with established laboratory and hospital policies for universal precautions, safety procedures, and exposure control/plans for blood borne and airborne pathogens. Work is moderately active: involves sitting with frequent requirements to move about the office, move about the facility, and to travel to another facility within the SRHS service area. Work involves using many physical motions in performing daily work activities; subject to exposure of body fluids, sputum and tissues, which may carry the hazard of infectious disease.
