The main role is to assist radiologists with the process of imaging, and not that of diagnosis as this is the key role of a physician. MRI technologist job description involves taking pictures of the body while utilizing various imaging methods. They are responsible for ensuring the patient's safety during the procedure. Technicians may be required to explain the procedure in layman terms to ensure a patient's comfort. Most importantly, the ability to produce a high-quality image consistently is crucial as this will help physicians to correctly provide diagnosis. All duties and responsibilities are to be performed in compliance with state and federal laws and regulations governing the legal scope of medical practice. **Primary Responsibilities:** + Provide direct patient care for a wide range of urgent medical conditions (sore throat, respiratory illness, rashes and skin infections, sprains and strains, fracture care, cuts, burns and others) + Perform minor procedures and interpret diagnostic tests (e.g., X-rays, EKGs, labs, CT scans, ultrasound, MRI, echocardiogram, PFT, urodynamic tests, and more) + Develops and implements patient management plans, records progress notes, and assists in provision of continuity of care. Communicates with patients regarding testing results, follow-up care, and additional information.
