Position Summary
Under the direct supervision of the Central Admissions Nursing Supervisor, the Central Admissions Medical Assistant will perform clinical and administrative duties and delegated functions as a member of the patient care team to provide a variety of multi-skilled services.

Pay: $19.00 an hour

What you will do: The Medical Assistant works as a staff member of the Student Services team. Primarily responsible for serving as an assistant to the entire Student Health Services Department. Coordinates the flow of students to be seen by the health care professionals within programs and the scheduling of students to be seen by outside health care professionals. Depending on location, the Medical Assistant reports to the Medical Manager and/or Medical Coordinator.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of youth progress, behaviors, and incidents, ensuring compliance with program policies.
This role requires compassion, consistency, and a commitment to empowering youth to succeed.
To be considered you should: Possess a high school diploma or equivalent ~ Certification for Medical Assistant or Nurses Assistant required ~ Successfully completed QMAP training ~ Be at least 21 years of age ~ Be able to pass a criminal background check, drug screen (we no longer test for THC), physical, and TB test ~ Be able to pass a search of the child abuse central registry.
Schedule: PRN - This is for a Part Time- Medical Assistant (Part time as needed). Shifts will be as needed.

As a Medical Assistant you will be ensuring the well-being of patients while working in conjunction with physicians, advanced practice clinicians, front office and clinical staff. This role is based in one of our location practices.
Our teams utilize a collaborative working model to build connections across our centers and communities. The primary center for this position is Akron, OH, though you may also operate in other local work sites on an as needed basis.

**Schedule:** Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
**Specialty:** Foot and Ankle Podiatry
**Primary Responsibilities:**
+ Schedule appointments, complete prior authorizations, process medication refills, handle referrals and answer patient calls as needed
+ Perform Clinical Intake with patients to include taking and recording vital signs and patient history
+ Assist patients as needed with walking, transfer, specimen collection, exam preparation, etc.
+ Maintain clinical supplies and equipment and ensure proper storage of biohazards
+ Clean exam/procedure rooms, instruments and equipment between patient visits to maintain infection control
+ Assist providers with minor, in-office procedures and perform point-of-care testing

**Required Qualifications:**
+ High School diploma or completion of an equivalent adult education program
+ Active Medical Assistant Certification
+ CPR and/or BLS certification
**Preferred Qualification:**
+ 1+ years of Medical Assistant experience with electronic medical records software
+ Experience performing medical back office tasks including obtaining vital signs, injections/immunizations, phlebotomy, urinalysis and administering medications
+ Experience performing medical front office tasks including scheduling appointments, prior authorizations, medication refills and referrals
