Job Description We are looking for a Vocational Nursing Faculty Preceptor to join our team. Facilitate current and new faculty training and development. * Make continuous efforts to improve quality of instruction by reviewing and utilizing innovative techniques in faculty training * Model professional workplace behaviors and practices * Provide an orientation for all newly hired Vocational Nursing faculty including a review of policies and procedures, curriculum content, Canvas, CourseKey, Campus Vue, and basic computer skills * Assess new and existing faculty learning needs and develop a plan to meet learning goals, collaborate with Program Directors, Lead Faculty and Faculty Development to meet learning objectives * Facilitate completion of programmatic training topics by working with hiring managers * Meet with new faculty on a regular basis to ensure their ongoing success, assist in problem-solving, and provide new faculty support during the initial 90-day hire period * Coordinate the transition of new faculty from faculty development orientation to the campus of hire * Assist new and existing faculty in developing a sense of belonging and engagement with the College * Assist in the coordination of mock skills check-off, theory observations and clinical training with hiring managers * Develop faculty training materials for programmatic orientation as required to meet orientation goals * Conduct orientation exit meetings to discuss and review processes and assess faculty readiness. Provide constructive feedback to faculty member and hiring manager * Articulate training expectation clearly; focus on faculty strengths * Assist with curriculum review and program instructional materials, including LMS and electronic resources * Submit required program reports and forms to the Assistant Dean or designee in a timely manner * Keep current with new technologies and safety regulations * Participate in professional development; maintain licensure CE requirements and remain current with College updates * Actively participates in College committees as assigned * All other duties as assigned Qualifications * Registered Nurse with current licensure in California * Graduate of an approved School of Nursing; minimum of BA/BS, MSN preferred * Experience which demonstrates: Current knowledge of nursing practice; ability to mentor faculty in classroom, lab and clinical settings; ability to work independently without close supervision; broad knowledge of nursing sciences and teaching modalities; strong communications skills verbal and written Additional Information We Offer: * Medical, Dental and Vision starting the 1st of the month following 30 days of employment * 2 Weeks' starting Vacation per year. This position will instruct Nursing courses in the Nursing programs and help in Clinicals. Instruction * Facilitate student learning, provide effective instruction, and perform evaluations of student learning for all assigned clinicals, labs, or simulated clinical experiences (SCE), using each course's standard course outline as a guide. Ensure that students have attained minimum course competencies as described in the course syllabus * Supervise, debrief, and evaluate students in lab, clinical, SCE, and similar settings as appropriate for the course or program * Be available to students via email, phone, or personal conferences * Meet all classes and other scheduled responsibilities such as scheduled clinical hours and meetings at the designated times.
