SUMMARY

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The duties and responsibilities of the RegisteredNurse - Clinic will include, but are not limited to the following:
Serves as a member of interdisciplinary team and is responsible for coordinating and following through on provisions of health care services for assigned program(s).
Arranges medical services for persons served and issues medical referrals as needed.
Provides follow-up on medical problems for persons served.
Conducts training for staff in medical administration, personal hygiene, basic first aid, dental hygiene, infection control, adaptive equipment, vital signs, signs and symptoms of illness and other in-services as may be necessary to meet needs of persons served.
Handles control of communicable diseases and infections through identification and assessment, reporting to consulting physician and implementation of appropriate protective and preventive measures and staff training in regard to infection control.
Participates in interdisciplinary team meetings and annual reviews as required by each division.
Monitors required staff health records and provides tests in accordance with regulatory agency requirements.
Provides immediate first aid with referral to outside emergency services or private physician.
Participates in routine individual case reviews.
Prepares and maintains medical documentation on each person served.
Administers medications when appropriate and supervises certified staff in administration. Supervises storage of medications.
Provides supervision and training for Licensed Practical Nurses and/or less experienced RegisteredNurses during their tenure at agency.
Provides first aid and attends to emergency needs of persons served.
Maintains Nursing office and orders supplies as required.
Transports persons served to appointments as necessary.
Attends team meetings and required in-service as scheduled.
Visits persons served at home as requested by Director or designee.
Keeps abreast of changes in Nursing field.
Performs other related duties as requested.
QUALIFICATIONS

Substitute Nurse - $120.00/Day
Nurse Substitutes are responsible for providing appropriate immediate care for ill, medically fragile and/or injured students and to serve as a healthcare resource to teachers, staff, and administrators.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
An individual who holds this position is required to:
Administers first aid, medication and specialized medical treatments (e.g. oral suctioning, catheterization, etc.) for the purpose of providing appropriate care for ill, medically fragile and/or injured children.
Assesses situations involving students' health-related issues (e.g. safety, abuse: physical, sexual, or drug, etc.) for the purpose of identifying problems, referring for proper treatment and complying with legal requirements.
Collaborates with a variety of individuals and groups (e.g. parents, students, health care providers, and/or public agencies, etc.) for the purpose of promoting and/or securing student health services; providing information and complying with legal requirements.
Monitors students referred (e.g. illness and/or injury, etc.) for the purpose of attending to immediate health care concerns and initiating follow-up care.
Monitors students with chronic illnesses for the purpose of assisting the child in achieving the highest possible functional level.
Responds to emergency medical situations (e.g. severe falls, prescription reactions, bleeding, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring appropriate immediate medical attention and related follow-up action
Maintain confidentiality as defined by the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
Demonstrate the ability to adapt to circumstances. Exhibit good judgment and use appropriate language or behavior while on assignment.
Remain on duty for the entire assignment.
Leave detailed notes for the nurse on any issues experienced during the day.
Adhere to all the policies, procedures and regulations of the building and district.
