A Clinical Laboratory Scientist or technologist at this level develops, performs, evaluates, interprets, correlates, and validates the accuracy of laboratory procedures and results. Testing procedures are performed on a variety of biological specimens and/or environmental samples using manual or automated techniques and require a broad exercise of independent judgment and responsibility with minimal technical supervision.
The work performed is In Cytogenetics and FISH testing. This position includes requirements to monitor quality control systems and measures; collaborate in the diagnosis and treatment of patients; and provide education for laboratory and other healthcare professionals.
SKILLS
Knowledge of professional cytogenetic and FISH principles, practices, concepts, and theories providing for sound independent work. This position is designed for individuals with laboratory knowledge and experience to learn and acquire unique skills to be applied in clinical diagnostics. The applicant must have a minimum of a bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry or equivalent, prior laboratory experience. Experience as a cytogentics technologist working in a CLIA environment is a plus.
Comprehensive knowledge of laboratory quality control and assurance procedures and principles of performance improvement, providing for sound independent work.
Knowledge of laboratory equipment and ability to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair instrumentation.
Ability to use independent technical judgment to analyze and interpret laboratory results.
Ability to interpret and apply complex written instructions.
Ability to communicate (written and verbal), consult, and interact with other healthcare team members, external relations, customer service, and patient education.

Job Description
We seek a motivated electrical technician to start forming the next generation of Motorola Solutions experts in rechargeable energy technology. This technician will provide opportunities to develop expertise in theoretical and experimental product and cell compliance testing, with exposure to rechargeable battery design and characterization.
The Motorola Solutions cell technology and safety lab features state of the art testing equipment, data acquisition machines, thermal chambers, G-shock tower, Vibration Tables, microscopes, resistance welder, and hoods to conduct construction analyses of cells and battery packs. Under the supervision of Senior Electrical and Mechanical engineers, the technician will receive hands-on experience with lab equipment, learn fundamentals of lithium ion cell technology, battery design and critical aspects of lithium charging safety.

How You'll Contribute:
We always do whatever it takes, even if it isn't specifically our “job.” In general, the Laboratory Tech I is responsible for:
Assist with sample receiving and specimen verification
Perform DNA amplification and NGS testing
Analyze NGS data for chromosomal abnormalities and accurately compile patient results into report summaries
Maintain laboratory equipment under the supervision of the laboratory manager
Complete regular cleaning and stocking of laboratory
Adhere to all Standard Operating Procedures in compliance with regulatory requirements and standards for the laboratory
Follow quality assurance and quality control programs
Observe all laboratory safety policies
Troubleshoot protocol and equipment malfunctions under the direction of laboratory manager
Handling blood-borne pathogens and general laboratory reagents
Additional responsibilities as deemed necessary.
Will be responsible for learning all aspects of PGT-A/PGT-SR testing.
Sample receiving, amplification, library preparation, sequencing, and reporting.
This position requires high attention to detail and the ability to accurately follow protocols.
