1991 Unity Bank Founded Unity Bank was founded under the name First Community Bank.
1994 Certified Lender The Bank was awarded “Certified Lender” status by the United States Small Business Administration
1996 Three More Branches The company expanded opening branches in Scotch Plains, Union, and Linden.
1998 NASDAQ Stock Exchange Unity Bancorp began trading on the NASDAQ stock exchange under the symbol “UNTY.”
1999 Officially Named Unity Bank First Community Bank changed its name to Unity Bank! The bank opened branches in South Plainfield, Whitehouse, Edison and Highland Park as well!
2001 #1 SBA Lender Unity Bank was recognized as the #1 SBA lender for a midsize company in New Jersey.
Unity Bank commenced operations in January 2006 following the merger of nine Banks with competences in investment, corporate and retail banking.
2006 Westward Expansion Unity Bank opened its first branch in Pennsylvania in Forks Township.
2010 1 Oct Merged with Australian Country Credit Union Ltd trading as Reliance Member Banking.
2012 Washington and Somerset As the company recovered from the recession years prior, it continued to grow with the grand openings of the Washington and Somerset branches.
On the 30 November 2016, Maritime, Mining & Power Credit Union members overwhelmingly voted for the Credit Union to change our name to Unity Bank.
1 March 2017 Maritime, Mining & Power Credit Union Ltd. changed the name to become Unity Bank Ltd.
Unity Bank was founded in 2021 by the merging of two long-standing community banks, Merchants and Farmers Bank and First State Bank.
