The position is responsible for the overall coordination of testing processes within the campus and in conjunction with other OhioHealth hospitals and OhioHealth Laboratory Services. Responsibilities And Duties: 60% Manages all aspects of the hospital laboratory services to meet customer needs and support hospital and department balanced scorecard goals. This includes: direct responsibility for Laboratory operations and ownership/coordination of cross-functional, laboratory-related processes through leadership with Nursing, other departments, the medical staff, and administration. The Director is responsible for the development and management of department operating and capital budgets, as well as personnel issues within the department. 15% Ensures Laboratory Department complies with relevant Joint Commission, CAP, CLIA, and FDA standards, as well as any other state/federal/local agency rules or professional standards. Summary: OhioHealth Riverside Methodist Hospital is hiring for a casual/PRN registered Radiation Therapist in the Radiation Oncology department. Our hours of operations are from 8am-4:3pm Monday through Friday and will reach out to the therapist as needed to fill open position due to time off, sickness, leave of absence, etc The Radiation Therapist delivers radiation therapy treatments as prescribed by the Radiation Oncologist. They prepare patients for a course of Radiation Therapy inclusive of simulation, dose calculations and acquiring of treatment parameters. Responsibilities And Duties: 35% Administers Radiation Therapy treatments on a daily basis. 20% Maintains daily record of treatment, inclusive of daily dosages and calculations and other necessary treatment records. 5% Performs simulations, acquires treatment parameters, patient contours and dose calculations. 10% Therapists who are scheduled to work 80 hours per pay, may be required to be on-call for weekends and holidays on a rotating basis. 10% Maintains patient schedules for In-Patients and Out-Patients communicates frequently with families and hospital personnel to maintain schedule coordination and accommodate patients as best as possible. 10% Monitors patient Condition and progress on a daily basis. i.e., patient weighs, skin care, reaction, etc. . 5% Assists Radiation Oncologist in performance of Brachytherapy procedures. Summary: The Lead Radiation Therapist is the supervisor over the Radiation Therapy team at Riverside Methodist Hospital Radiation Oncology. They are responsible for maintaining adequate staff levels and making sure all the LINAC machines are well staffed. They maintain and prepare the daily schedule and the call schedule for our team. They partner with the providers and the nursing team to deliver high quality care to our patients and are the connecting link between the Radiation Therapy team and the department manager. Call is rotated on a weekly basis among the 11 therapists. The department consists of three Linear Accelerators and two CTs. They also provide High Dose Rate Brachytherapy in the department. The Neuro Interventional Radiologic Technologist must be competent as the assistant to the Neuro Interventional Radiologist for diagnostic and interventional procedures. The technologist must have knowledge of the X-ray equipment in use, hemodynamic monitoring, cerebral angiogram coiling, avascular malformations, stroke interventions and sterile technique. This full-time position is located at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Neuro Interventional Radiology. The hours for this position are 8:00a-6:30p and include call with a 30-minute response time. Call is one night/week and every 4th weekend. Responsibilities And Duties: 85% Radiologic technologist must be competent as the assistant to the Interventionalist in specific area as described above in summary for each area. 10% Greets patients upon arrival to department. Checks chart for required data (i.e., informed consent). Reports absences or abnormalities to RN/physician. Explains procedures, gives instructions, and answers patients' questions. Participates in room turnover and transporting of patients. (5%) Assists Radiation Safety officer in QA of labs and radiation protective apparel on regular basis. Sonographic Arterial Duplex examinations of the upper or lower extremities either with or without provocative maneuvers. 5. Sonographic Venous Duplex examinations of the upper or lower extremities either with or without provocative maneuvers. 6. Sonographic Doppler Venous Waveform Analysis of the upper or lower extremities for the evaluation of venous insufficiency or reflux. 7. Sonographic Duplex examinations of Hemodialysis Access Sites including AV Fistulas and AV Grafts. 8. Sonographic Venous Duplex examinations of the upper or lower extremities with concurrent venous marking and vessel evaluation for pre-surgical planning. 9. Sonographic Duplex examinations of the renal vasculature including arterial and venous structures and flow dynamics. 10. Sonographic Duplex examinations of the Mesenteric Arteries. 1 1. Sonographic Duplex examinations of the Aorta, Inferior Vena Cava, or Arterial Bypass Grafts. 12. Sonographic guidance for vascular access or needle placement for interventional and/or surgical procedures in either an outpatient, inpatient or surgical environment. 10% Applies experience, knowledge, and critical thinking to all aspects of departmental operations and performance of examinations. 1. Analyzes data acquired in the performance of the examination in conjunction with established protocols and criteria to generate a preliminary report that accurately describes the anatomy and pathologies visualized and provides the referring physician with the information required develop an effective treatment plan. 2. Modifies exam protocols as necessary to fully evaluate the presence and extent of any disease processes present. Adapts imaging techniques and practices to acquire the best images possible while maintain the safety of both the patient and technologist. 3. Applies experience and critical thinking skills to maximize departmental throughput and maximize effective use of limited resources. Collaborates effectively with other departments and nursing units to expedite performance of requested examinations while minimizing disruptions to the patient and hospital operations. 10% Trains new Associate Technologists and Vascular Technology Students in non-invasive procedures 1. Discusses anatomy and vascular physiology associated with the test in general and specifically as it relates to each patient's pathology. 2. Familiarizes the technologist or student with current scientific articles and reference books pertaining to the procedure s . 3. Discusses and demonstrates equipment operation. 4. Discusses and demonstrates testing protocols and criteria. 5. Instructs the technologist or student on interpreting the procedure and the proper method for preliminary reporting. 6. Trains technologist or student in proper documentation procedures. 7. Assists technologists or students during various stages of their training. 8. Develops and presents formal in-services for the technical, nursing and medical staff on non-invasive peripheral vascular procedures including, but not limited to, technique, indications, benefits and limitations, and contraindications. 10% Provides for outstanding service to customers both external and internal. 1.
