    The Controller is an integral member of the financial management team and is involved in issues affecting the Business unit. The Controller is responsible for the monthly closing activities across headquarters and all three manufacturing facilities and the corresponding analysis, reporting and communication of the results thereof, as well as all necessary supplemental information. In this role, the Controller must be an agent for change, collaborating on productivity initiatives (using the Crane Business System) within the finance function, focusing the Accounting, Accounts Payable and Credit teams on its customers, internal controls and compliance. The Controller will partner with the finance team and vertical market leaders to deliver exceptional financial support and process improvements. Responsibilities and Duties Primary accounting leader for Crane Pumps & Systems. Coordinates the closing and reporting activities of the manufacturing sites and BU headquarters. Champions continuous improvement initiatives and drive necessary change and improvement to enhance internal controls, better financial reporting and business support. Provides leadership and strategic insight on accounting and compliance as needed with respect to specific higher risk and judgmental areas of accounting and reporting in compliance to Crane Co./Crane Pumps & Systems financial policies. Provides direct oversight to the Accounting, Compliance, and Cost Accounting functions. Serves as a leader for Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) compliance. Manages external and internal auditor relationships to facilitate completion of audit procedures in a timely and efficient manner. Leads, motivates and develops talent within the organization including, but not limited to, immediate direct reports by coaching, counseling, engaging, and evaluating associate performance through the Crane Intellectual Capital Process. Establishes, implements, manages and monitors critical accounting and reporting processes and associated metrics. Protects assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls. Ensures that effective internal controls are in place to ensure compliance with US GAAP and applicable federal, state and local regulatory laws and rules for financial reporting as well as the protection of company assets.
